Awesome, thanks for that list Dave!
I just redeemed a free $5 credit from a Walmart disc I bought, so will probably pick one of those up.
If you bought one of those Walmart titles with Vudu coupon attached, they expire today.

I never paid much attention to their D2D service, that's pretty fantastic actually, having a portable movie collection without the need of dvds/blus/hdds is handy for $2/piece.

Anyone using the In Home Disc-to-Digital software? If you're running into frequent "This disc is not eligible..." error messages, just uninstall and re-download the software. This seems to fix many of the problems.
And over 100 new titles were added to the D2D database this week.

I've run into a couple disc not eligable, but they actually aren't so no loss. I wish they had an HDX version of Titus (anthony hopkins) on there, otherwise I was able to use about 16 of my movies with no trouble, now have Beetlejuice and Ghostbusters in HDX wherever I go
.
Roku 3 box + wireless hdmi is a great combo with the RF remote.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Just realized the direct links to content I have been posting do not go directly to the video that is on sale. You will have to do a search for the title anyway. It is a VUDU issue. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Have I got it surrounded, or is the process fundamentally different?

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Correct.
It's just giving you access to the video off their server. You can watch it anywhere at anytime in excellent quality. This is why there are limited titles you can do it with. I'm not sure it's taking any kind of serial # though, and I imagine one of the big hang ups with the service is people try to Red Box a disc and buy the Vudu version for $2.
I have a blu-ray drive on my PC and used their In-home D2D service (You put the disc in your computer, it recognizes it and lets you purchase the Vudu version for $2 (Blu-ray) or $5 (HDX version from DVD)). It worked very well, very quickly and I'm happy with the quality of the titles that did work (some titles, like Iron Man are not allowed, other titles like Titus don't exist at all to them, but about 20 of the 25 titles I tried worked without a hitch.)

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
I'm new to VUDU and the D2D service. I presume that when you schlep your media to WalMart to redeem your paid-for conversion (or when you run the home-D2D software), they're not actually scanning/ripping/uploading the entire disc and are actually just (a) confirming that you own the disc so that your account can be authorized to download/stream that title, and (b) noting the disc's serial # (or other unique identifier) to ensure that your specific copy can't be reused by a different user.
Wal-Mart will stamp your discs around the center ring with a little handheld ink stamp. I've gone in 3-4 times and they only did it once because they keep losing the stamp. I was able to wipe the ink off with a kleenex.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Thanks for the D2D process clarification all.
Since I don't have a Blu Ray drive as part of any of my home PCs, I've gotta decide whether I want to schlep my media in to WalMart (a joy in itself) and deal with some chucklehead (an added joy) or if I should go eBay a cheap external Blu Rap optical drive for $30 and just do everything at home. Is $30 worth avoiding the hassles of physically going to WalMart? Probably.
....but the $ I would save by going to WalMart could pay for a few Blu Rays.

^ Buy an external Blu-ray drive at Best Buy, use it to verify all of your media, then return the drive.
That's what an unethical person would tell you to do.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
It's definitely worth $30 to me. I'm not crazy about doing this stuff at Wal-Mart. There's only one worker at my local store that really knows how to do it. So I've got wait for her to get off break (she's always on a break). Or I can have the other idiots spend 20 minutes reading the manual and going through it step-by-step. But if you get the person that knows what they're doing, it only takes 2-3 minutes.
Before you invest any money in a drive, make sure the titles you want are available for D2D conversion. Some studios don't participate in the D2D program (Disney, MGM, Summit, etc). You can check availability here:

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
A lot of Summit Entertainment titles were just made UV-compatible today. And many of them are now available for D2D (Knowing, Red, Push, Letters to Juliet, etc). Hopefully the rest will get added soon.

Dave is there a site where they list updates on New d2d titles? Or even a master list that has all the titles available?
