Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I never received my credits for watching the free movies, and I wasted a few hours listening to subpar movies playing in the background while I was working

If it helps to look for it, the credit wasn't automatically applied to my account. I received a code in an e-mail 10/1. Then a 2nd e-mail was sent 10/2 with a note that it had been sent, along with a survey.

Yep, same for me. Code has to be redeemed by 10/31 then used within 30 days.

I watched 5 movies but only got $4 credit. Received the code on 10/01/18 & redeemed on 10/05/18 after purchasing 20 movies using the mobile app.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Anyone have issues with specific movies not playing?

I've owned Slither on Vudu for quite awhile. It says I own HDX. But I tried to play it the other night and it would absolutely not play in HDX at all. It would load/buffer for a long time, then ask if I wanted to switch to SD. I tried it over and over, and the same thing kept happening. So I just decided to watch it in SD. EXCEPT... at about about the 1:08:55 mark, the movie just stopped entirely, and now it won't play past that point at all. I haven't tried to restart it from the beginning, but I can't imagine that would make any difference in getting past the above time stamp. I initially thought this was an issue with my internet connection, but in my troubleshooting, I started up a few other movies in UHD, and those loaded up just fine.

So, I can play some movies in UHD, but can't play Slither in HDX, and can't get past 1:08:55 in SD.

Anyone else have an issue like this?

It sounds like Vudu may have an issue with that movie. It could have to do with your particular CDN connection to Vudu.

Did you contact Vudu support about this?

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Maybe try downloading it via the Vudu app and seeing if it'll play that way?

Good idea. I'll do that when I'm back on wifi.

That’s a lot of good stuff. Are they going to be $4.99?

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Some good ones at $4.99 and $3.99. Right now they've got Trog and Return of the Living Dead II (with the alternate soundtrack) for 99 cents each, got to be a mistake. Got ROTLD since I don't have it on any other format and am curious about that track; plus the Blu-Ray's audio was taken directly from a VHS tape complete with hi-fi tracking noise!

Two of the NoES sequels are also 99 cents to own HDX: New Nightmare and Freddy’s Dead.

It blows my mind that you can't buy Halloween 78 on Vudu.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I was checking through the list on my phone, bumped my elbow into the doorframe and when I looked down I had RENTED Texas Chainsaw Massacre for $3.99!

Called up their CS number and they fixed it for me pretty quickly with a refund.

My brother & SNL live in the same house but have their own internet service. Can I register their Smart TV under my account. I don't think it would work since they are using their Wifi signal.

I don't think Vudu really cares about whether you're all in the same "household" or on the same internet connection. You could use Vudu on your phone while at work, while your spouse watches at home, for example. However, there's a limit on the number of simultaneous streams.

UV allowed 3 simultaneous streams, but only one per movie. MoviesAnywhere (MA) allows 4 simultaneous, 2 per movie. I'm not sure if Vudu is affected by the MA limit or not.

BTW, why do they have their own internet service?

Thanks for the info. As to why they have their own internet service. Years ago when the whole house was just hard wired they use to complain about always coming upstairs when they were having internet problems. I would have to reset the modem. All the computers were hard wired. They thought if they got their own service they would not have problems. All problems stopped when Time Warner (Oceanic) came out & rewired the whole house. Plus they also wanted Wifi & I told them all they needed to do was get a router. But they still decided to get their own Internet service from the same company.

I already knew about the simultaneous streams. I had 7 devices registered but four of those are items that I don't own or use any more. So I just deactivated them this morning.

I agree. My son wanted to watch it last weekend for the first time, and we were surprised that we couldn't find it on Vudu or Amazon.

My bad. The "watch free movies" code has to be redeemed by EOD 10/30, not 10/31.

I just used it on the Universal Monsters collection.
