Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
if i share my collection with someone, how fast should they see new movies added to my Vudu/UV account? shouldn't it be instantaneous?

I'm confused, did you buy them in Vudu on the Xbox, or did you buy them in the Xbox Store?
Vudu does list collections as a single "title" if you buy them from them. I got a Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 collection via Walmart Instawatch, and when scrolling through my titles it shows up as "Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2" with a generic image: http://i.imgur.com/YoCjkLp.jpg When selecting that "title," it then shows the two individual movies to select from. It's not too bad in that case, since the movies are related and even the same name, but it'd be a pain if I owned one of those Lionsgate ones with a nonedescript collection name and somewhat random assortment of titles. Also, it shows up both on the website and on the Xbox One app like that. |

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
I find there is a bit of a glitch where people I share with won't see new additions unless they log in from a computer, then all other devices they might access the library from tend to recognize additions thereafter. Of course, DMA movies won't share no matter what.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
It should be immediate once they accept the invite. They should try to log in using web instead of apps. Sometimes refreshing through web fixes issues with movies not available in apps. They do have lots of diff kinds of bugs

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Yeah, don't expect it to be stable. I've shared with my brother and sister, and they've seen my movies lol in and out, and their catalog go from a lot, to a little, to not being able to get in. Have fun!
It's just not that reliable, so once you send the invite and they get in, don't expect them to see everything you have. |
Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Ok, thanks guys. It actually went through so who know...
|
Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
In my experience, sometimes new additions show up immediately and other times they can take a few days. It often helps if the person on the waiting end goes to the Vudu website. It might take a few minutes for their library to update the newest titles.

Checking Wikipedia, it's only the first 4 seasons. Also, the first episode of season 3 is listed as the last episode of that season.

Also, just found this site for looking for deals/sales on Vudu. I sorted by TV shows and Price Drops and it found the $4.99 deals:

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Ok, not sure if this is the best thread for this question, but have we ever had a thread or post about the "best way" to enter these various digital codes? I've noticed quirks over the years like code sheets with no mention of itunes having the code work at Vudu and itunes, or similar. And what exactly is the best way to enter Disney codes? I vaguely something about trying them at Vudu first before entering them at Disney.
What say you digital veterans you? |

http://www.vudu.com/dma.html I just tried a code from Sherlock Holmes Blu-ray that stated it was for iTunes or Windows Media. It wouldn't activate on iTunes, even after I put the Digital Copy DVD in and it launched the specific Sherlock Holmes activation page in iTunes. I then tried it on Vudu and it worked. So I'd try Vudu first, even if it says iTunes only, if you prefer having a UV copy over an iTunes copy. |

Any other tips or tricks? I feel like someone like Dave could write a FAQ with all kinds of secrets.....

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Here's a couple random tips.
Some recent Disney codes can be redeemed twice. Once through DMA and a second time through Google Play store. Seems to be a loophole that could be closed and they may decide to remove those double redemptions. So caveat emptor. ------------------------- The old Disney digital copies than came on a disc, can often be redeemed twice. You can redeem the code directly through DMA. Then you can redeem it again through iTunes using the disc. ------------------------- If you have an old iTunes code, but are missing the digital copy disc, there's a work-around using an XML file. It's very simple, just follow the instructions here: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=236284 --------------------------------- If you're trying to redeem a code at Vudu, but can't find the redemption link, just go to any redemption page and switch the number. For example, here's the redemption page for Gravity: https://my.vudu.com/redeem.html?eccid=476565 You've got a code for Middle School early, but there's no button to redeem the code. http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content...ars-of-My-Life Just take the number from the URL (821027) and swap it on the redemption link: https://my.vudu.com/redeem.html?eccid=821027 |
Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
This might be blasphemous to say, but I think I like watching movies better through Vudu then the actual disc. On my meager set up it just sounds better and looks equal to the bluray in PQ. I do love the discs for the extras though...

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
BTW, wanted to mention that I did view some of Incredible Hulk on streaming this weekend. WOW. Seriously, it's obvious that a lot of restoration went into bringing this to digital. They did a really good job and I would venture to say its better than my dvd set (though I'm not ditching it until I get a proper region free Blu-ray set). Ridiculously worth the $4.99 per season.
