Roku users, check your email for a new Beta test. It's titled "You’re invited to join the Roku Beta".

Interesting. I am signed up to be a tester yet never got this email.

In fact I only get some VUDU emails.

I got testing invites a few years ago (we mainly were told to watch a specific movie and report if it dropped out), haven't gotten any for this one but those who have said it's testing a whole new interface. Hope it doesn't put any crap on the screen during playback.

There’s a lot of good comedies in their April Fool’s sale. I just got Ernest Scared Stupid for $7.99 and its almost never been on sale at that price.

The new interface on Roku is terrible.

Can only see 5 titles at a time when scrolling.

The title information pops up over the content with any button push and stays a while before disappearing. A back button press to dismiss the title information pulls up the rate a title buttons.

When opening a series you have been watching, you have to scroll down to get to the next unwatched episode.

I am sure there are more inefficiencies and annoyances yet to be discovered.

Reduced or sub optimized features and functionality for the sake of an expected beautification of the interface.

I just checked it out and it's terrible. Who only wants to see 5 titles at a time? I'm sure people got paid a lot of money to make this terrible new interface.

Just checked it out. Doesn't really bother me. I think its easier to get to My Vudu Click left and there it is.

Guess I have even less reason to use my Roku now. The interface on my TV is still the same but it can't pass Dolby Digital Plus or Atmos. Will just get used to the ones on my Apple TV and Shield/Android which are both a little weird.

re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

Hooked my Roku back up just to have a look at the new interface. Yes, this is pretty bad- it looks like a copy of Netflix and Disney Plus- actually Disney Plus's menu screens are better for browsing content than this. It feels like I put a magnifying glass over my screen.

The forced time display onscreen is a deal-breaker in itself- it was pretty bad how it was before, but I just got used to hitting the Back button to make it immediately go away. You can't do that now, it just exits the movie altogether. It at least seems to leave the end credits alone; FandangoNow was threatening to have crap pop up during that a few years ago and I told them I would close my account with them if that happened.

I've already been renting movies mostly from iTunes now since they've been said to be using a higher bitrate than other services. Vudu was still the easiest to browse before these changes, but they'll lose that advantage if they go with this permanently everywhere.

They're STILL showing trailers in standard-def also, that along with the forced time bar on the first couple seconds gives me no reason to watch them there anymore. Apple has them in the best quality and I can at least turn their stupid displays off before they start.

re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

Death on the Nile and Murder on the Orient Express are being sold as a bundle for $12.99. That’s a steal. I went ahead and got it.

By the way, someone hacked into my Vudu account and watched about half of Spider-Man No Way Home before I caught them on my views history. Also got an Email from Vudu from a mysterious device that logged in. Do these fuckers not think anyone will not notice? Luckily I caught them otherwise they could have changed the email and password and started charging up movie purchases. Be careful with your VOD accounts.

Have you looked at your authorized devices lately. I just did and somehow have hundreds. I plan to deactivate them all and start over with only the ones we use (Roku, TV, and Android Apps).

I do wonder though how the list got so big. Could it not only be the few devices we've used and also be every browser etc login for both Fandango and VUDU since the beginning of using their service. Could every refresh/re-login on a device still be in the list.

Most likely. I went into the list a couple months back and there were dozens. I deactivated them all just to be safe and re-logged in. I just checked and only see a couple logins now.

I checked mine. Only 7 listed. Two I can positively ID, my phone and blu-ray player. One should be my tv, one should be my fire stick. Others might be previous tvs. Just not sure which is which.

I had about 340 devices when I deactivated all. I did receive 3 emails about my deactivated devices. All of which were expected. 2 we no longer use and a present one we'll re-login into.

Woah, I all of a sudden have 100+ Vudu devices. Most say they are the generic ‘Vudu device’ and date back to 2013.

I check and rename my devices regularly, and those weren’t there last year. Could it be just every browser instance I ever logged in with suddenly re-appearing?

Wait they hacked into your account even after changing your password? Did you reuse parts of the password or something?
