So this is something I’ve never seen before. Anyone know what’s up with this? I’ve never heard of the Editor’s Cut for this before.

Looking it up, this was released in 2017 as part of the limited edition Spider-Man Legacy Collection 4K Blu-ray set.

Per the set's cover: "Alternate version supervised by the film's Academy Ward-winning editor (2009, The Hurt Locker)."

It adds some scenes, removes others, uses more of the original Christopher Young score. The info I found says it's actually 2 minutes shorter than the theatrical cut.

https://gamerant.com/better-version-...3-editors-cut/

The consensus seems to be it's a better cut, but not by a lot.

Ah, cool. Thanks Jay for the breakdown. I’ll have to give it a watch. I actually have the set, I just never checked for anything on 3 cause, well it’s 3.

FYI, No Way Home in the set is a preorder. Will not be available until March 2022.

Correct. But a good deal if you don't own these, as there's no way Far From Home is going to be anything less than $20 when it hits UHD on Vudu.

And the Microsoft deal doesn't include No Way Home, so that's why it's a lot cheaper.

Yeah, it’ll likely be $19.99, but the Vudu set is $24 more. :)

iTunes already has No Way Home up for pre-order for $19.99.

Three UHD for $14.99 sale includes the regular and extended LOTRs and Hobbits. Vudu appears to attach all the bonus features to the individual films (Microsoft puts them on the bundle), so this might be the way to go for me. I already own the films in HDX so I might’ve had all the features anyway., but I am interested in upgrading at least the LOTRs.

Yep... I upgraded my extended Hobbits. I'm hitting this sale pretty hard... a lot of cheap upgrades to 4K (that are all MA). Probably upgrading all the Harry Potter films later.

I'll be hitting something pretty hard, probably the wall, after finally biting on the LOTR extended editions in UHD for $29.99 a few weeks ago ...

The entire extended edition Middle Earth Collection in 4K with bonus features including the Appendices is $44.99

I'll probably get this on iTunes as I have my credit from the Walmart $200 GC sale from a week ago.

This is probably the most affordable way to get all 6 movies in 4K with extras. Especially with the Middle Earth box set being a complete joke.

I ended up buying 9 movies from the Three UHD for $14.99 sale. LOTR 1-3 Extended Editions, The Hobbit 1-3 Extended Editions, Unforgiven, The Hangover Part II, and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice The Ultimate Edition.

Make sure you buy a gift card to use on these titles to save even more money. They're 10% off if you buy a $50 gift card with the code VUDUDEC21 and 15% off and you get two free rentals if you buy over $125+ with code FESTIVE21

I upgraded my Potter films to 4K during the Fanflix WB Christmas sale. It's still going on if you want to get the Potter Films and save on tax https://buy.fanflix.co/c/1hbrrfrnwx2...liday-campaign

So 15 bucks over these other sales for the appendices? How much extra content is that?

About 15 hours of documentaries.

But I already have money on Apple from the $200 for $143 GC sale at Walmart a few weeks ago. That’s why I’m buying it at iTunes.

The extended editions of LOTR and The Hobbit have the Appendices as extras on Vudu. For some reason they won’t play on Vudu’s website, but they play on the Vudu Roku app for me.

I would like to take advantage of this deal but I keep getting this error message. Am I missing something?

I bought two $65 gift cards and it worked.

I wish I had bought $125, but I only bought a $50 card.

So buying them on Vudu for 30 bucks total is basically the same as the 45 itunes collection, right? Sorry I was getting confused why the latter was a deal, I guess I understand if you already have credit.

It seems to me that buying them on Vudu is the better deal unless that iTunes set has more extras that I don’t know about.

They're MA so you'd get all of the extras anyway, right?

Each provider has different extras. Vudu Extras differed from iTunes, and Movies Anywhere when I was looking at them on all three providers last night. All three were different.
