Great show, and even better in 4K. Too bad they're still not offering any shows in 4K.

Okay, Earth Day Sale is now correct. Before it was a lot of stuff that had nothing to do with Earth Day. Must have been some sort of placeholder.

Hmm, if we do lose the Vudu interface, I'm guessing we'll also lose our 3D titles. I only have about 6, but 1 or 2 are not available any other format. (but 1 was from a code)

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

How does losing the Vudu interface equal losing 3D titles? And do you mean 3D titles you have that you entered codes for? Or 3D titles you purchased on Vudu?

Just picked up Call of the Wild UHD for 9.99. Fun family movie at a very good price! I also purchased Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins HDX for 5.99, as well. A fan favorite in our house...

Neither is a small fry, I anticipate the loss of some features but in the end keeping a solid purchase-based platform running is in their best interest.

I think the loss of 3D would be due to losing/switching backends more than the interface, but the different interface would be an indicator of it.

Basically, Fandango will now have two different video rental/purchase services, each with their own system, interface, apps, and backend.
  • FandangoNow
  • Vudu
If they opt to retire one and migrate users over to the other, they're likely to go whole service. It's not like they're going to graft the Vudu frontend to the Fandango backend. So if we lose Vudu, we'll lose the interface, the apps, and the backend support for 3D.

Also, IDrinkMolson stated that one of the six 3D titles he has on Vudu was from a redeemed code, so the other 5 must be purchases. Vudu has some titles available in 3D that are not available on physical media. Some Vudu 3D exclusives include:
  • Venom (no US Blu-ray 3D release)
  • Hotel Transylvania 3 (no Blu-ray 3D release anywhere)
  • Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast (no Blu-ray 3D release anywhere)
  • The Pirate Fairy (no Blu-ray 3D release anywhere)
FandangoNow does support 3D movies, but only on VR headsets, not for 3D TVs or projectors:

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Yes, what J G said. I couldn't think of the word, and went with interface.
Checking again, 2 of mine might be from a code. I know Gamer is, and maybe Spy Kids All the Time (etc). But the 2 I bought that aren't available in US are Hotel Transylvania 3, and Resident Evil: Final Chapter. I missed out on redeeming Wizard of Oz 3D when it was working, or I did it wrong and only got 2D.
I also bought a Toy Story short (Small Fry, umm not related to RichC2 post ^) in order to test out the Vudu 3D capability. I think I used credits for it. It's also possible I own more on Vudu if they are no longer for sale and don't show up in the 3D Collection area. I went through that and added all of my titles showing there and made a List on Vudu.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Ah, got it. As far as I know, no code that came with a 3D set actually redeemed in 3D. At least none of mine. I know Gamer did for a lot of people, but it’s nothing across the board for 3D codes. That being said, I’m fairly certain Fandango won’t drop 3D as a service, and more than likely add it to be streamed on TV’s at some point.

There actually were a few. Gamer 3D was one, as was Dredd 3D. You had to redeem directly on Vudu though, not through UltraViolet. It was only a handful of titles though.

What's more, Walmart had a few "Instawatch" titles that redeemed the purchase in 3D.

Does a tv show have to end in order for it to get a bundle and and save? I thought for sure, Brooklyn Nine-Nine would have most seasons in a bundle, but no go and individual is ridiculous. Yes, I know on Hulu.

Rocketman 4K is currently $16.88 for the disc+digital option. But there is a shipping charge, but the overall price is still about $10 cheaper than the usual price.

Yeah, they also have a 4/$15 offer, but only 27 total selections. Not such a great deal if you only want a couple.

It's a great deal for They Might Be Giants. I've been waiting a long time for that to go on sale. Last week I decided to suck it up and just pay the full price. But luckily I put it off a couple days and jumped on the Mix & Match.
