This news came out a day or two ago, but Sony re-signed with Netflix as their SVOD provider for their movies. I don't know the exact window, but I think it's between 100 to 120 says after theaters.

007 is back at Netflix.... I checked about 8 of them and they're all in 4K... even On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Met Phil Rosenthal today, the host and producer of Somebody feed Phil on Netflix. He was a speaker at the Los Angeles Travel show today. Also got him to sign his book that is a supplement to the show. He was really nice and stayed for everyone who wanted a picture and photo. He was also the Executive Producer of Everybody Loves Raymond before he became a TV personality.

That's an extra $3 per month for me. I have an additional user and have the full 4K/ad-free plan, so...

I already cancelled my sub. There simply is not enough for me on there to justify the price. I will probably just sub once or twice a year to blast through what I missed.

My guess is they are trying to recoup costs associated with live sports events.

Seriously, fuck them. For that much, there absolutely should be a 100% configurable interface so you can actually enjoy stuff without their crap intruding on it. But instead they kept breaking the Kodi addon and caused the guy who designed that to give up.

Looks like my new bill is the $19.99 plan (me), with the $9.99 sub tier plan (for my dad).

With Stranger Things ending and me planning a break from watching most wrestling the price hike might get me to cancel for a bit.

Gonna cancel I think. Maybe I'll sail the high seas instead. :D

I keep hearing about this price hike, but my Netflix has been $19.99 since last year. So I'm confused. Was I just ahead of the game?

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion

I was a loyal customer for over a decade and had it on autopay. My card was compromised, and I got a nasty email, and they immediately suspended my service at the time. So I said FTS and kept it canceled, and have not renewed yet. It's been 8 months, and I still have **only thought** about signing up again, as these constant price increases are stupid and not worth the $. I may sign up for a month or two to catch up on a couple of series and then cancel again.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion

That's the way to go, if you have discipline (and other services to rotate in and out). You'll never really be lacking for stuff to watch, and because of the format of release there's very little watercooler talk you'll miss out on by rotating services in and out. And Netflix in particular doesn't even feel the need to tempt you with an annual discount or anything.

I miss when Netflix had old obscure movies, like American Raspberry, Hot T-Shirts and Cracking Up.
