Never knew how good the Roku was until I bought one last fall with my att directv now package - definitely the king of streaming.
I had the premier but just recently bough the ultra because it now enables you to be "wired" (you can still be wireless to of course). The remote is bulkier for it's volume control buttons which I like - they're on the side. The power button doesn't shut off the roku it shuts off your tv.
The A & B buttons are app specific, so far the only app I know that utilizes them is netflix.

Looks like The Nowhere Man's Free Porn Channel has been pulled(or maybe they discontinued it) from Roku.
Porn Hub(I think) is the only remaining free one.

anyone having issues with the espn app?
I keep getting kicked for too many concurrent streams.
I am only logged in on my roku 2, phone and tablet
signing out doesn't help.

Guess I have too many channels on my Roku 3, as they often have to reload. Bought a microSD card that I thought would be compatible, but it isn’t. Does anyone have one or know a specific one that definitely works?

Frankly, after the Roku 3 dies I'll go with one of the alternatives that gives you a decent amount of storage on-board.

A while back I was having problems with my Roku. I forget what it was exactly, but I thought it was bricked. After reading a suggestion online, I removed the SD card and the problem disappeared. So I'm no longer using the SD card.
Back then, I had about a hundred channels. I ended up removing all the channels I never used, and now I'm at 30. Honestly, I could probably cut that in half. It's nice having all those channels, but I only use about a dozen.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I almost want one of mine to fail so I can justify getting a new one.
^ I followed those Roku support directions, but mine didn’t work. Have read elsewhere that they are really finicky on what brands work.

I still wonder why we have so many channels on our Roku when we only watch a few.... Yet I sweat at the thought of getting rid of any as we "may" watch it in the future... I think it is called collector mentality... Even with Roku channels... Oh why..

I used to add every channel that "looked interesting" and now have about 400- I would delete some of them but it takes a long time for each one. Now I usually check the added channels and only add them if I have time to check them out right then, and delete them if they suck.

I usually open the channel and check the selection. If there is something we might watch someday, I keep it.
Issue is neither one of us ever goes back to them and watch anything.
We have so much on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, CW (has nothing on Hulu
), ABC (shows/specials not on Hulu), NBC (shows/specials not on Hulu), Fox (shows/specials not on Hulu), VUDU (our collection and Free streaming titles), DVDs, Blu-rays, 4K dics, etc.
And with limited time to consume all our backlog neither my wife or I ever consider those other channels.
Yet we have them if we ever venture outside the pile of stuff we head to first when making a decision on what to watch.
Of note, I did catch an old TV movie (with commercials) I didn't remember watching on one of the non major channels (can't remember which one) on a lazy afternoon when I had a day off work. Glad I did, not because it was by any means a great movie, but since I can't find any channel for free any longer.
Issue is neither one of us ever goes back to them and watch anything.

Anyone else use Hulu via Roku smart TV? I use Hulu on multiple devices and the Roku version is the only one where I can't seem to change the subtitle Font and Color. It defaults to yellow which I cant stand. On all my other devices I can change it under settings but on the Roku version there is no such settings. Very annoying.

I love having access to thousands of channels. But in reality, I only watch about 7-8 on a regular basis (at least once a week). There's around 4-5 channels I watch once a month. And maybe 10 or so that I watch once or twice a year.

I just bought a Streaming Stick Plus, so of course they come out with new/better/cheaper hardware.
I had a Roku a few years back, but got rid of it, I didn't use it much and the things I did use it for, I could do on Xbox.
I bought the SS+ a little while ago so I could use DC Universe (since it's not on Xbox yet, and since I found out too late my AppleTV is a 3rd generation, and DCU works with 4th and up.)
Granted, I'm subscribed to more streaming services than I was the first time I had it, but man, this thing is cool. I've only got about 20 channels on, and I find myself watching just a few of them, but it's a great piece of hardware and sooo muuuuch content.
PlutoTV is awesome especially for free.
The voice search doesn't work right all the time, but its ~85% success rate is good enough for me. And I love the universal search and Feed. My smart TV has cross platform search too but it has many fewer "channels" to search across.
Only things I don't like about it:
- I wish the remote had backlit or glowy buttons. I often watch TV in a dark room and I haven't memorized all the buttons. - OR -
- I wish my Logitech was fully compatible with controlling the Roku. Unless I'm missing something.
- More channels need to be in multichannel (I know that's the channel, not Roku per se.)

The newer Roku's aren't very good when it comes too hooking them up too an older TV set.
Except for the Roku Express Plus,I don't think any other model will do it and not sure but I am guessing there are alot of problems with Amazon Fire TV and Sticks hooking them up too older TVs.
