The God of Cookery was added today.
Very cool seeing this one in HD, looks way better than my old DVD -- and finally with good subtitles. The last 30 minutes are still pretty fantastic, in a truly ridiculous Iron Chef-spoof sort of way. It's available in English or Cantonese w/ English, Spanish or French Canadian subtitles.

Faults is now up. I recommend giving the movie a shot, it could be a stage play but has one hell of a performance by Mary Elizabeth Winstead. It's a dark comedy/drama about cults, currently has an 88% on rottentomatoes.

The Search for General Tso was added today. This is a great little documentary on the origins of General Tso's chicken, which many Chinese fast food restaurants serve. Very informative with lots of interesting interviews.
I saw this on demand last year and really enjoyed it.

Yeah, don't watch that one while hungry but it is a solid doc, covers a lot of history not just General Tso stuff and is pretty entertaining. I sort of have more respect for PF Changs after seeing where it comes from originally but that is still some ridiculously bland chinese food.

Netflix Canada added 4 Shaw Brothers movies: The Avenging Eagle, Shaolin Martial Arts, Come Drink With Me and Martial Arts of Shaolin. They are all Mandarin with English Subtitled.

Well, that day many of you have been waiting for has finally arrived: the remastered edition of Star Trek: The Next Generation has finally rolled out to Netflix. Over the past few days, USA-based subscribers to the popular streaming service have been seeing the ragged, VHS-quality episodes of the celebrated series slowly update to the wonderful, high-definition restorations we've been talking about for the past three years.
While both Amazon Prime, Hulu, and iTunes have each carried out season-by-season upgrades to HD, each several months after each Blu-ray release hit store shelves, it appears that Netflix is following the same model as their HD rollout of The X-Files earlier this summer -- wait until the project is completed, and replace the whole series at once.
There are still several episodes that have not yet been updated, but there are upgrades in place now from every season -- so those gaps are likely to be filled soon. Additionally, this appears to be limited to subscribers in the United States (for now, anyhow); no news yet on an international rollout.

They're adding Person of Interest! I've been wanting to check it out. Count me in for one ep. This may be my next fix as I finish GOT 1-5 (4... eps... of 50... to go...).
The first three seasons of Person of Interest will hit Netflix on September 1, followed by the fourth season on September 22. After a ratings drop last year, CBS will air a shortened, 13-episode fifth season in midseason sometime in 2016. Nothing has been announced or confirmed, but producers say they are approaching the new season as though it will be the last.

Good News about PoI. I watched the first 3 seasons although struggled to stay committed to the end of season 3, so I never ended up watching Season 4. At least this way I can binge watch it and get it out the way

Hopefully the list of September releases will show up in the next day or two. So far the only ones I know of are 'Person Of Interest' and 'Longmire'
