The Instant Watcher app has an 'expiring soon' section. Not a bad gauge of what content is going away.

Does that still work well? Netflix got rid of the API feature that showed Expiration Dates, not sure why exactly, even VOD does that.

The "Instant Watch Browser" Roku channel still seems to be working, although it missed at least one expiring show earlier this year (Shaun the Sheep) that was listed as expiring in the official Netflix Android app. My toddler was not amused.

Aww, poor little guy . That does suck, they yanked something before I was through with it earlier, so I feel his pain .

Robot and Frank was added as well.

I primarily use Netflix for TV shows but they're doing pretty good with their movie selection as of late.

Edit: Pirates of the Caribbean: Black Pearl (#1) was put up today

Yes, our Prime account has seen a lot more use the past few months because of this. He even knows to ask for the Roku's Amazon channel in order to watch it. Thanks for following up, though!

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

At instantwatcher.com, I was looking at this month's release dates for Netflix streaming anime. Are there certain dates each month when Netflix offers additional titles, or are additional titles from Netflix unpredictably released out of the blue ? For the time being my access to streaming anime is limited to AnimeNetwork through my cable provider and Netflix.

I would subscribe to CrunchyRoll if you're looking for anime.

But no, Netflix adds when Netflix feels like adding.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Holes (2003)
Kite (the anime that is being adapted to live action with Samuel L Jackson)
Lady Gaga and The Muppets Holiday Special (2013)
Lovelace (2013 w/ Amanda Seyfried)
Syrup (2013 w/ Amber Heard)
The Tower (Korean Towering Inferno)
Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead

were added today.

Kite I don't think was ever highly revered, but it's a pretty good, short anime. It touches on some uncomfortable themes, and is extremely violent, kind of curious to see how the adaptation turns out.

It of course already saw a knock-off/adaptation a few years back as a music video:

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

I'm assuming this the cut version of Kite? I remember reading that the uncensored version was so explicit, it was brought up on some sort of obscenity charges, wasn't it?

Probably. The censorship surrounded
Spoiler:
sexual abuse of an underaged girl
which, while not terribly graphic, had some repercussions, even though it's just anime. Not sure how they did it in the Cut version since that is a large part of the motivation for revenge.

I laughed for a good minute or two when I saw this title pop up in the "coming soon" section of the Roku Instant Watch channel a couple of weeks ago. I'll be watching it this weekend while my wife is out of town.

If she's familiar with using Netflix, there'll be a record of you watching it in the category of recently watched titles until your household watches another 50 titles at which point it should drop off the list viewable through the Roku; that was my experience with titles while using Netflix through the Nintendo Wii.

This title is also available through the Roku through the Crunchyroll channel. Click on 'browse drama' and then scroll down to the horror section; it's 14 of 14. This title is labeled as 'episode 1' but is 1hr 25min in length.

Yay, FarScape is back! And it picked up where I left off, like Netflix hoped I wouldn't notice it'd disappeared. Now put up the rest of The Twilight Zone, bastards.

That sounds like awfully unpleasant content, I might just skip that.

Kite on NFS didn't have any of that sexual abuse. I watched it a couple of nights ago.
It was and extremely violent feature though.
