It's basically a mailing service. Essentially it's a way to get somewhat faster than standard shipping without paying first class rates.

So what it is not is first class, but it should generally be faster than media mail although I've never had problems with media mail taking a long time.

So it's a service of the US Postal Service? If so, that's good because the mail carrier leaves it in our mailbox. If it's UPS that's bad because we're often out (4 full time students) and UPS takes it to their headquarters far away and I have no car.

Whatever happens happens I suppose.

It'll come in the US Mail to you. How it actually gets to your letter carrier is via another delivery company though I believe (i.e. UPS or somesuch).
