I hope I at least get all my Hitchcocks next week. I've got nothing preordered there past 3/27. We better tread carefully. Remember the Reel.com debacle.

Buy.com Expects To Lay Off 100
http://dailynews.yahoo.com/htx/ap/20...layoffs_1.html

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Troubled Internet retailer Buy.com will lay off 100 people from its 230-person staff, CNET News is reporting.

Citing sources close to the company, CNET reports Buy.com, based in Aliso Viejo, will announce the layoffs Wednesday.

A call to Buy.com was not immediately returned late Tuesday.

The news comes one day after eToys announced it would file for bankruptcy protection and shutter its unprofitable Web site by the end of next week.

Earlier this month, Buy.com reported lower year-over-year sales, and said it would shut down its Canadian store and sell its United Kingdom operations.

The company said it laid off about 25 workers as a result of its cost-cutting moves.

The company's chief executive and chief financial officer resigned shortly after the release of the disappointing financial results.

I hope Geoff has a revenue plan for when all these sites yank their affiliate programs. That can't be far off in their push for profitability.

Maybe if Buy.com would start shipping internationally, they would do better. The way I look at it, they're losing a ton of potential customers.
