I went to Best Buy to exchange a Fight Club today and was told I have had too many returns without receipts. The CSR explained that their new policy is all returns OR exchanges must have a receipt. If you return w/o a receipt 3 times you are blackballed. They track with Driver's license number. This is crappy. I have been a customer for years. It is very easy to garner 3 strikes...

would you say I have a plethora?

I feel your pain. I was blackballed at BB a while back too. Try Suncoast. I returned dvds with minimal hassle and no receipt.

I don't blame Best Buy one bit.
People abused it, they fixed the problem.
You know they got plenty of extra unwanted inventory from the CompUSA fire sale.

Instead of ways to circumvent the system, just keep your receipts.

I remember a thread about this a while back.. I thought BB only keeps your name on file for a year or so.

Can anyone confirm/deny this?

How often have you come back to return stuff w/o receipt?

What if you say that you don't drive and thus don't have a driver's license? Then you can just give them a different (or fake) ID every time.
