I ordered "When Harry Met Sally" a week before the release date with a coupon that I had. I called them when the DVD didn't ship out the week of the release date.
My order status says "on order" but when you look the DVD up on their website it will change from day to day from "will ship in 24-48 hrs" to "on order".
Everytime that I call customer service and they call the warehouse they say that the disc is on backorder.
Has anyone else had trouble getting this title from them? Also has anybody had any experience with backordered pre-orders with Buy.com?
I don't want to cancel the order since I used a gift certificate on it and they are also giving me a credit for most of the difference since I am having a problem with the order. I just want to get the DVD without having to wait a really long time.

I ordered Predator DTS from buy.com when it said ships in 24-48 hours. Then after I ordered it, it went to backorder. Then it showed up on the website again ships in 24-48 hours. I wonder how long it will take them to fill a backorder on a movie that only came out three weeks ago.

I am waiting for my Oliver Stone 10pk from them as well, which is on backorder. I shudder to think how long it will take me to actually get it from them now.....

Oh well, at least I am getting it cheap!

I've been waiting for NOSFERATU since early January. The bargain price makes it somewhat bearable, but why this long???

I had preordered The Straight Story from Buy.com and when it arrived (on release date) the disc was loose and scratched, so I sent it back for a replacement. It took 3 weeks for them to place the replacement order and by then it was out of stock. After a month, they finally shipped a new one and it arrived last week. So don't be surprised if it stays backordered for at least a month.

I ordered A STAR IS BORN and after waiting nearly 2 months for my replacement copy (the original was defective) I just cancelled it and paid slightly more elsewhere.

It just makes more sense to cancel a defective item from Buy than to wait for them to get around to replace it.
