As a regular buyer of DVDs over the net, I like to be informed about other people's experiences with online stores. I thought I would share mine about Chapters.ca Ontario. I tried to cancel an order after waiting over 6 weeks for it to be shipped to me. After sending several emails and receiving only "we're sorry, but your order is too far into the shipping process to cancel" I am still waiting for it to be shipped - nearly two months after I originally placed the order. My credit card has been debited and now they are saying it was shipped weeks ago, even though my order history states that it is still awaiting shipment!!?? My only hope is to have the payment reversed out of my credit card. I will be careful when ordering from online sites in the future.

I've ordered from Chapters on numerous occasions and have never had any problems of any sort except that if the item isn't in stock, I won't order since it'll take too long to get. Maybe their international shipping sucks... but they are very good around here.

Just call up their 800 number and they'll help you out. If it's been 2 weeks, the package is probably delayed or lost. The order history on the site is not always accurate (same goes for their stock status).

Shopping at Chapters.ca requires patience. It's the same for us Canadians - you yanks are not getting any special treatment! I'm currently waiting for a couple books that I ordered 2-3 months ago.

This problem happens to me quite a lot believe it or not. On my last two orders, I have single dvd's in them. Both of them stated in stock on the webpage, but after waiting about 3 days for it to ship, I check on the website, and the order status says it's not available right now, and it'll be a couple of weeks before it gets in. So i click on the cancel button on the order status page, and request an order cancellation. No such cancellation ever occurs! They charged my card on both orders without the order even being shipped and I tried to cancel the order 3 times. Finally a month later, I get a box in my mail with the DVD in them. I tried contacting the 800#, but I don't usually feel like being put on hold for eternity. Email is even worse. It's no wonder they are losing money, with customer service like this they shouldn't even BE in business.
