To say I'm disappointed in the lack of customer service from eToys is an understatement. I placed a $150 order on 12/17. On their website it states if you place an order before 12:59 PM PST on 12/18 you will have your order by 12/23.

Today is 12/26 and I have yet to get my order. I spoke to an eToys employee on Saturday when the item hadn't arrived and was told I would be reimbursed for items I had to go out and buy. I spoke to another eToys employee today (12/26), their supervisor, that person's supervisor and was basically told I was S.O.L. "We don't say we guarantee delivery"... isn't it implied that if on your web site you say your order will be delivered on or before 12/23 that it's guaranteed?

These aren't items I'm ordering for adults - these are for kids who have no concept of why Santa wouldn't be able to get their toys to them on time.

My compensation offer was to refund me for the shipping charges and the cost of the batteries. Roughly $19 off the $150. Then after speaking with the second supervisor I was offered a token $10 gift certificate... to which I replied "You've got to be kidding me - you think I'm going to order from you again after this fiasco?!". She wouldn't even apply the $10 towards my order.

I was then told I could call back tomorrow after the shipping window had ended to request credit back for the order. That didn't make much sense to me either. You won't give me money off because I didn't receive the order, but you'll refund the whole order amount tomorrow if I haven't received it. Then what - if the order arrives on 12/28 I get to keep it all for free?? That's my take on it.

I heard they're going under again anyway, so this may be wasted soap box space, but I'd certainly avoid eToys.

Your first mistake was ording online so close to christmas...I do not care what any online store's web page states...you can pretty much forget getting any items that fast at this time of year unless you paid extra for next day air or something comparable!!! They just shipped an order I placed on Sat on 12/26 via USPS Parcel Select which probably means at least one week prior to me actually seeing this order.

I realize their site stated on or before a certain date but you can never rely on this information when dealing with online stores unless they are shipping via a more expensive carrier. I hope you get your order shortly!!! http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I agree with the post above. You can't possibly rely on online shopping with so few days. The time for arrival are estimates based on regular times. Christmas season, the post office is so busy that it usually take twice as long. I did my online gift shopping on 12-2, and everything went through with plenty of time to spare.

this is why I wish we still had vigilante justice.
