They have Get Carter on preorder, but not Revenge of the Nerds. What is up?

Sometimes there's just no accounting for taste.

There is just no logic to Buy.com's pre-order strategy.

Some titles like BEN-HUR for a March street date are available for ordering yet many other March titles which are announced cannot be found.

Buy.com usually lists a title no later than 2 weeks before street date.

The lesson is don't count on Buy.com to list all pre-order titles months ahead.

dvdirv, Buy.com puts most titles in way before their street date. I put in a pre-order a couple of weeks ago, and three of the titles, A Better Tomorrow, the Dogma SE, and Clerks Animated Series, were all at least five weeks away. The Clerks disc in fact was nine weeks away from release when I pre-ordered it.

It's not say they don't fumble the ball on some titles, but usually they're all right.

I think since most of us are so keen on when titles are announced, we expect retailers to have them available for pre-order the minute we hear about it

But your two-week rule is nonsense.

And TOLEN, keep in mind that IGet Carter is a Warner Bros release, while the Nerds 2-fer is Fox.
Perhaps while both studios have announced their titles, Warner hasn't yet begun taking orders from retailers for Carter yet.

I asked a CSR about this a while ago, and b/c they get items direct from Ingram, the pre-order needs to be loaded in the Ingram system before buy can offer it. That was the official answer I got on the subject. Hope that helps.
