I need to find a R4 online retailor that has good prices and has free or inexpensive shipping to the US.

I am looking specifically to purchase the Friends season sets. Blackstar, in the UK, has them for 59.99 L, which is about $80 or so us, with free shipping.

I would like to see if I can find them cheaper anywhere else.

Thanks.

Vryce - AFAIK, the friends series are sold individually (not in box sets) with each disc having 8 episodes each.

You can try www.chaosmusic.com which has each disc for about AUD$29.95 (including Goods & Service Tax, which is 10% - if you log on with an address outside of Australia, you will get the GST-free price). I think shipping to the US is about AUD $9 for 3 dvds, but don't quote me.

Also, www.ezydvd.com.au ships to the US, but they are not the cheapest. I think they have the friends series for about AUD$35 for each dvd, with shipping to the US about $13 for 3 dvds. I think that they also deduct the GST for overseas orders, but I can't confirm that.

Either way, by my calculations on today's exchange rates, it should be between US $55 to $65 per season - if you pay the GST.

Thanks Keith.

The R2 boxsets work out to about $85 US shipped through Blackstar.

ChaosMusic has each DVD at $29.95 AU, EzyDVD has them for $34.95 AU. Both include GST. EzyDVD's shipping is $13AU for 3 discs.
Chaos's shipping is $6 1st disc $2-3 for each additional.
So, about the same.
If I pay the GST and they don't subtract it from the total, each season works out to about $58 US.
So, that is a big savings and the most probably route I will go.
They say it takes about 2 weeks from shipment to receiving the items.
When I order, probably after Christmas, I'll have to let you know what I thought of the experience and how it went.
My Blackstar experience was great!
Thanks for the couple retailors. If you have any other recommendations, please feel free to let me and others know.
Thanks again.

No probs Vryce.

Also check these threads in the International Forum where you'll get people who have had experiences with Aus on-line stores:

Check out http://www.dvdplaza.com.au for a price comparison of some online dvd shops in Aus.

Also, jonathon.e posted this in a previous thread:

"...Check out the forums at www.dvdplaza.com.au/ for some problems people have had with Chaos. The one that seems to be almost universally praised is www.dvdplanet.com.au/ who deduct the Oz only GST tax before you check out if you are not resident in Australia. Decent prices as well. "

I haven't used them myself, and I don't know what the shipping costs are, but it couldn't hurt to look around.

A few of my friends who order R2 have praised Blackstar as well!
