Well, I got home this afternoon and was happy to see my Sopranos DVD set had come in. Well to my suprise when I opened that badboy up, I got the VHS set!!!! I looked my order number up, and sure enough I ordered the wrong damn set! I was hoping that it was Buy's screwup and not mine, but I guess I'll take the blame on this one. Anyways, does anyone know if Buy will do an exchange with me paying the difference? I did open it up because you can't tell if its VHS or DVD by the packaging.

The exact thing happened to me with Nosferatu. Even though it was my fault, I didn't have to pay for shipping. They just give you a url to go to and print out a UPS label. Then just drop it off or flag down a UPS truck and when buy.com receives it they'll refund your credit card.

I don't think so, at least this has been my experience with them. They will only do an exchange (replacement) if the item has the same SKU number. In your case, since the numbers are different, you will have to place a new order for the DVD set and just receive credit for the VHS set that you return.
This was the case with my return of a defective DVD that was recalled by the studio. Since the SKUs were different, I had to place another order.
My initial return was for a replacement and yes, they sent the same defective copy, although I had it in writing (via email from them) that I could do an exchange...no dice.
They are pretty consistent with this policy.
Good luck.
