I noticed on Best Buy's website that you can choose to pick the DVD's up at a local best buy store. It says that "Scary Movie" would be available to pick up at the store on Tuesday 12/12. According to the website you place the order on their website, they charge your credit card and you can pick the DVD's up at the store that you choose. Last week when I was in the Best Buy store the salesman didn't know how it would work for me to pick it up at the store. Has anyone tried this before? I thought if they held the DVD for me to pickup on Tuesday then I wouldn't have to worry about them selling out of a new title before I could drop by after work. If anyone has tried this please post. I'm thinking about trying it this week on a couple of preorders that get released on Tuesday.

I've done this before. You simply order it online, the website contacts the store you want to pick it up at, to make sure that they have a copy, the store then holds it for you until you come into the customer service lane. You bring your email, and the credit card you charged it to so that they can double check everything, then you get the goods. The 2 times I've done it have been hassle free. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

I am thinking of ordering 2 preorders today on their website that are being released Tuesday 12/12. Will I be able to pick them up at the store on the release date (Tuesday) and can I be sure that the store will actually hold them for me?

You shouldn't have any trouble getting them. I've done this for a couple of pre-orders in the past and never had a problem. The idea is that they know how many "pick-ups" they are going to have, and they don't put those disks on the floor. They keep them in the back with a tag on it that has your receipt (with name, billing info, etc) attached.

One last question. If you place a preorder order on their website and pick it up at the store on the release date, if they lower the price on an item that is on your order do they credit your credit card back the difference? The reason I ask this is their website had "Nutty Professor 2" listed as $17.99 but when I got to their store on Tuesday they had it for $14.99. Thanks for your responses.

Make sure to point out that they have it for a lower price in the store. They should then credit your card back for the difference. This happened to me once, and I had no problems. Just make sure to point it out to them.
