Hi out there,

have anyone else had the same problem with Amazon that you cannot check the dvds that you have on preorder and cancel them? I have emailed them now three times since last week and still no answer from them. Furthermore, I cannot find any phonenumber to their company and call them as I have done in the past. If you have that number, can you please share it with me. Thanks and have a http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif.

There is another thread currently discussing this problem with Amazon located at http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/005986.html . I had this happen with an order of DVDs that were set for release in January. I had to call CS to cancel the order for me.

same problem here (i actually just deleted my new topic after seeing that it was already discussed) ...

does your order also have "seven" in it ?? for the old price (21.96) ?? maybe there is an evil scheme behind all this !!!

I just talked with them and they said they have updated their webpage and in the process lost some features. However, they are working on it and as a nice gesture they emailed me a $10 GC. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

Sorry, no Se7en in my order.

I have had this problem too. I've e-mailed them twice, but, as a safeguard, I changed my payment method to 'check'. This means that they won't ship your order until they receive a check from you(which of course they won't get), giving your e-mail, telling them of the problem, more time to get through.

...I think this should work!

When you combine orders you can't cancel the items which weren't on the original order (at least in my experience). Contacting cst srv solves the problem though.

Thanks! Never thought about that, but thats a great tip. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif Should work, just a matter of long it takes them to answer the e-mail now.

Strange, this is the exact same issue that I had last week. This is a new issue as I have combined, then cancelled all items in the order many times.

And yes, an email to a CSR remedies the situation.

I've been at Amazon trying to cancel my copy of Gettysburg on DVD!!I actually re-ordered this DVD with the Soundtracks(no problem). I then go back to the orginal this DVD was originally one and tried to cancel it!!I got the part where you click on unshipped items and got no sqaures to cancel!!There are some other DVD one this orginal order(like the new DVD of "Seven" and some other DVD's!!.The order total is around $300 !!
I then tried to cancel another order of "Rocky and Bulwinkle"Unverisal's big summer flop and the same thing happened!!
Has anyone else hear had this problem at Amazon today besides me? I also sent Amazon a email with the order # and told them of the problems I had !!So far they have not emailed me back!!

Call them, there's an error in thier database that prevents people from canceling for some odd reason. I repeat, you have to call them in order to cancel your order.

zakzouki 11-25-00 12:58 PM

it's the same for me : impossible to cancel items or orders.
I've sent many mails without any answer.

ok .. the problem is still there and even worse .. last week I called to cancel Seven (which was priced 21.69 on my order, but 20.99 in their catalogue)

so .. today I wanted to cancel another item which i then wanted to reorder to get a 100$ order together ... and see a) cancelling still does not work b) my seven disc was back in the order .. with the missprice !!!

so .. i needed another 15 minutes with some guy, who finally offered "do you want me to have an email sent to you that explains the cancelation process online" !!! grrrr ..

well . huffin and puffin as I were I asked for an order specialist, who was nice and soothing and a 15$ GC always help ease the pain http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

What I have done to cancel my orders with Amazon.

First, I go to the cancel page, then save that page as a html page.

Then I open the page in notepad, look for "form" in the code, when you see one wich has /exec-blablalal, add https://www.amazon.com .

Then, here is an example of code I used afterwards (hopefully it looks alright, if not I'll put it up on some webpage).

make sure your logged in, then load up the page (after saving it), then cancel whatever items you want to cancel.

and Voila.

Some rather useful (I hope) instructions as to cancel items can be found here, http;//www.mjhfan.com/cancel.txt
