I have never had a problem getting store credit at Best Buy. Of course if you wait till after xmas you can go anywhere, probably.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. With all the people returning gifts, I could just say that I got all these DVDs from someone who thought I had a DVD player. And could probably use the credit to actually buy myself a proper DVD player.

Thats a good idea. I just say stuff like that is as good as gift certificates when xmas is over. Another idea is to return them to a place like Suncoast, where they are MSRP. Aren't they the place that does 20% off gift card orders? Maybe you can get gift cards when you return stuff.

dbrink, how does this work? U ever tried it? I see ur in Illinois too, u know of any suncoast that do this? I called up Mediaplay and they said they could do store credits, but I'm hesitant 'cuz most of their other stuff is MSRP too. They don't even have any electronics..... or do they? Never been in one.

I've returned Gifts to Media Play For exchange, Though their price was a little high, But I got Anastisa for 5 bucks. So i can't complain, I woudln't recomend this as a habit but as long as it is sealed in the box, i don't really think it costs them any thing.

Just return the item(s) to Suncoast/Sam Goody/Media Play and ask for Gift Cards as store credit. They will give you the value of the item(s) plus tax. Then use these Gift Cards on their online sites which have lower prices. Better still wait until their online sites have a special offer of additional 20% off when using a Gift Card and you will get even more value out of it. Although I have not tried it it has been reported here before by others who have said it worked.

So are these gift cards stackable online? Are they stackable offline? Do any of these sites sell electronics? Also is it just me or do SamGoody/MediaPlay/Suncoast all have the same website? I was looking for DVD players on their site but they don't seem to have any. Do they sell them in their B&M stores?
