Am I better off asking for a $1 on the street than selling on Ebay?

What the hell happened to my Ebay sales? I cannot make steady sales in the last few weeks. A quick search at the Ebay communities and a couple of asswipes suggest lowering my prices or providing free shipping. Let me guess to lure in more broke people who think a $500 phone should cost $10? lol
It seems Ebay is basically a garage sale place now.
I still make sales but not the flow like years ago.

What are you trying to sell?
Yes eBay is in the dumps right now. There are still sales to be had. You must be better priced. And integrated within their evolving structured catalog. The days of snapping a pic on your kitchen counter and selling it on eBay are over.
People are hesitant to purchase products from personal sellers or those without warranties. Too many people pushed too much junk for too long.
I’ve been in the thrift and grey market business my whole adult life. I could go on and on about it.

If it’s a cell phone ... funny you mention that. Not many people buy used phones anymore. The CEO of Verizon got his start in the used cell phone business. And he is largely responsible for the introduction of cell phone leases and trade ins. They are used as a mechanism to block used phone sales ... because service and support of used hardware is a burden to the carriers.

Fashionable clothing brand new with tags.
One particular jacket I paid $148.94. I'm selling it for $139.00 with free shipping. Shipping is $13.65 because jacket is of thick weight. I had 8 watchers at one time. Now I just get 3-4 watchers. Decided a few days ago to include "Best Offer" and received a $90 offer which is a low ball. So I removed "Best Offer".
What is funny is that the majority of pre-own stuff I put down ends up selling. For example I sold all my Levi's jeans for half price no problem and received excellent feedback at that.
But all my new stuff with tags slow sales.

I'm not so sure on that. I have not bought an item on Ebay in months. I did put an item in my ebay cart to see if tax reflects and it showed me none.
