Maybe you can create a new Recyclebank account for someone in your household and sign them up for a subscription? It doesn't take that many activities to get 400 points:

This doesn't help you now, but my current EW sub is from a sticker that was attached to a Blu-ray of Trainwreck that I bought at Target in October of last year. I paid $5 for the Blu-ray and got the year of EW totally free with a code on the sticker. There were several other Blu-rays in the sale, but Trainwreck was the cheapest one.

Whenever i do one of the free magazines here in the free magazine thread (hundreds of subscriptions over the years), at the end of the sign-up I get the option for a year of various magazines for $2 a year. EW is usually in that list. I’ve had it and Time and Sports Illustrated for a decade or so that way.

The deal dex suggested isn't that much more expensive. $29 for two years is 14.5 per year.

That is where EW's site redirects you. I got it directly from them.

You know EW comes weekly, right? It's right there in the title. I get it for $10 a year, but that's about 19 cents an issue (granted, they have a number of double issues during the year, but they're also double-sized).

I get almost all my mags from discountmags.com.
I've been getting EW there for no more than 10 bucks a year for years, and I'm locked in to that for at least the next three.
Sign up for their mailing lists, at least once a week they have a pretty good sale on various titles including EW about half the time.
Of course I don't see it there now, at least on their regular search.
It's not $2 a year but I also don't have to earn points or take surveys or anything.

www.rewardbee.com has it for $10 in rewards points. 1 survey is usually around $30 in rewards.
www.rewardsurvey.com has it for $20 in reward dollars. 1 survey is $30 in rewards. (some of their mags, they charge a .99 service fee, so I don't do those)
If you redeem on more than one, as long as you use the same name/address, they usually automatically treat it as a consecutive subscription. And a simple call if you get double issues will correct it to a consecutive subscription.
My Entertainment Weekly is currently good through Aug 2021. Free is all I'm willing to "pay" for a magazine. I probably get over 20 a month, all for free. They don't care about free subscriptions, they just want to be able to tell their advertisers they have 1 million subscribers (or whatever it is).
Yeah, my library offers access to Flipster. There's a ton of digital magazines in there.

Valuemags offers a two year subscription for free every couple months or so. If you are not in a hurry, I'd recommend signing up one of their current free offers and you'll get emails for free offers.

With Coca-Cola Rewards you can get a 6 month subscription for entering 12 codes (that's 2 six packs).

EW is not what it used to be back in the day. The trite, bland writing copy reads like press releases for each movie or show they cover.

They aren't even changing the name, which seems weird to me.
