With all the talk about Electronic Boutique, I thought I'd mention that I saw a flyer at Funcoland (used video game store) that they are now looking to purchase used dvd's.
I'm terribly sorry, but I don't have any more details. If somebody else knows more, can you post?

Yes. EB, Babbages/Software Etc., and now Funcoland. They're all jokes.
"Bargains" I saw today:
Lock Up, Suicide Kings, a few Hitchcocks, several other Frontrow duds (Used of course) $14.99.
It's like they don't realize that you can get these new for

Funcoland is pretty decent for pawning off video game stuff and getting cheap old nintendo stuff. I am hoping to one day get my import samba de amigo maraccas from there.

Trading in movies to Funcoland will probably be as bad as trading in your games!! With the prices I am usually purchasing dvds and video games for on the net....I usually can sell the items I do not wish to keep and get back at least what I paid for it in the first place. I could go into Funcoland today and buy a new game for say 40-45 dollars...bring it back that same day used and they will offer me half of what I originally paid!! Just does not make any sense!!! Put these items on the auction block and obtain a good return for your item.

Samba De Amigo is a Sega arcade game that was just released in Japan for the Dreamcast. They also released maracas for the Dreamcast game like the ones used in the arcade version. The following is a summary of what the game is about.
"To summarize, Samba De Amigo is a rhythm-action game. Shaking your maracas in the desired fashion is a vital ingredient of success, as is getting into the groove. Away from prying eyes (except those of your friends), in the comfort of your own home, Samba is even more engrossing than it is in the arcades. The associated peripherals (two maracas and a mat) are prerequisites for those who want the full experience. Unfortunately -- but hardly unexpectedly -- the controls fail to translate to the standard joypad with anywhere near the same level of efficiency as the specialist accessories. Although the very nature of maracas makes melody practically impossible, Samba comes into its own by focusing solely on the rhythmic side of things. Players must shake them in varying tempos at various heights. The learning curve is sufficiently short to allow casual gamers (or even non-gamers) to succeed without being frustrated."

Take a look at dc.ign.com, they had a news post on there, Sega on Samba Shakers: Sold Seperately that says Sega is going to sell them on our shores, for $80 a pop. Ouch! But hey, if that's your thing, go for it.
