Is it at least possible to stymie amazon's efforts to use info from the PAST (before the new policy manifested itself)? e.g., by creating a new account for future transactions.

I'm sick of this Amazon crap...

Another interesting article about this: http://www.ecommercetimes.com/news/v...000906-1.shtml
Best "sound bite"...
quote:
Amazon is betting that despite recent research showing that consumers want control of their online privacy, most are just too passive or lazy or trustworthy -- depending upon your view of human nature -- to do anything about it when that control is taken away.

|
Tell Amazon how you feel: [email protected] and [email protected]
I did. "Dear Sir or Madam, I am very disturbed by your decision to allow for the sharing of personal information. Regardless or whether it is shared or sold, this is totally unacceptable. All of my purchases were made under your previous Privacy Policy. If you choose to violate that agreement I will choose to never shop with Amazon.com again. In addition, I do not agree with your current Privacy Policy. I do not wish my information to be shared with anyone whether they are affiliates of yours or not. I have one last gift certificate to spend, and after that I will no longer be shopping at Amazon.com. If you wish to continue having me as a customer, I suggest you revert back to your previous policy and cease the concept of sharing the personal information of your customers. Sincerely and Irately, -ME" |
