Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

I used to sell a lot on IOffer but only magazines & toys. I do see a lot of bootlegs but as long as you read the descriptions and pay with Paypal, so you're covered in case of a problem, you should be fine.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

I bought and sold about 2 dozen times over the years on IOffer. I never had any real problems. Just use Paypal for everything. Lots of boots like everyone says.

I used to buy and sell grey-market movies on Ioffer. I wouldn't worry too much about getting ripped off, in terms of someone taking your money and not sending anything. It never happened to me. Just be aware of what you're buying.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

There are lots of good TV series that have never made it to DVD; or have only been partially issued. iOffer is a place where you can get DVD copies of some of these series. I've ordered a couple and had no problems. And though the quality isn't that of a commercial issue, it's watchable. For me, that's better than nothing. How else am I going to see The Rogues and Special Unit 2? I would prefer proper DVD issues, but that's not an option.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

They became the go-to outlet for bootlegs once eBay cracked down. I used it to buy a number of rare CD bootlegs.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

I actually have all the episodes of Special Unit 2 that I recorded onto DVD-Ram when I used to fix DVD recorders for JVC. I haven't watched them in years but I remember it being a fun show.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

I've bought a lot of DVD-R bootleg TV movies from there that will probably never see the light of day on DVD. I also got "Being Bobby Brown" there recently too. No complaints - happy with all my purchases!

What happened to their site?

You can't find anything there.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

No listings show up in search and category browsing is very hit and miss. Even though Site Status says everything is kosher. Site may be gone forever.

Yes that sucks if it's an end of an era, I like finding unreleased obscure films there especially TV movies from the 70's that seem will never get release on DVD or Blu-ray.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

Yeah I bought several rare movies that were never officially released on DVD via that site. The seller I got them from was really cool.

It's a fun site to see how many rare things are put up there even though most of them aren't exactly legal copies. That would be a shame if the site is finished.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

I bought a DVD set for the old TV series, Relativity, through iOffer. It's disappointing to hear that they'll no longer be around. Some things are never going to get a release.

Yes most of those definitely not legal copies unless the movies were in the Public Domain and some studios (mainly Warner Bros.) had been kicking out sellers left and right so perhaps that's why they just dropped movies and music items too.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

I used to be a frequent buyer on ioffer.com. Mostly older TV shows and made for TV movies on DVD-R that never had an official release along with a few rare OOP soundtracks duped on CD-R's. Never had a negative experience on there. Sad to hear it's gone.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

Not sure if this is true but a friend sent me this

Ecommerce site iOffer took its site offline on February 25th for maintenance and said it was planning to be back up and running on March 1st. But users are asking what happened to all the listings. These days we don't keep up with the alternative online marketplace, which launched in the early 2000s (we've found management to be unresponsive to our inquires), but users reached out to us today to ask what was happening.

On Twitter, the company announced on March 4th that it had completed maintenance, and "everyone should be able to access their accounts again."On March 11, it tweeted, "We are aware several sellers inventory on iOffer have not been restored from the maintenance we are working on individual sellers account to restore their items/listings.

Thanks again for your patience."But as users continued to report seeing far fewer listings than before the maintenance, iOffer tweeted on March 13, "We're hoping to restore all sellers items/listings."

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

Hoping for the best. I thought for sure they finally purged their site of all the bootleg material being sold on it.

Re: Anyone ever ordered from iOffer?

The music and movie industries have been pretty effective at weeding out places like iOffer, but I think they provide a necessary function in today's media climate.
