I've never had Prime, not even for the free trials as I recall 2-3 people here mentioning their service got worse after having it and not renewing. And I can manage making the $25-$35 minimums.

I've definitely made exchanges, though percentage wise it's not too bad I think, and it's more for cheaper items, like an $8 MMPB that gets pummeled in transit. But it's been well over a dozen, maybe two, maybe even more, plus more returns for Market Sellers. I haven't returned quite as much as I wanted to as I have heard stories here of people being banned by Amazon for too many returns. But I'm betting they look more favorably on exchanges then returns.

K-Mart has thrown down the gauntlet with 2 day shipping at 39.99. The problem is, it's K-mart.

I buy my sugar-free workout Larabars there and they come 26 in a packet and I use about 13 a week, so that's 26 orders a year.

I buy my SF calcium supplement there, one lasts me three months, so that's 4 orders.

One order of pea protein a month, that's 12 orders.

Electrolyte tablets or powder, about 4 year.

About one pair of Goggles a year, up to 47 orders now.

I also get Blu-rays when they have sales.

Almost an order a week and that's just on regular things I get.

I've been getting into their streaming. Netflix won't run on the Chromebook but Amazon will, so I've been watching The X-Files. Through HitBliss I get 4 free rentals or TV shows a week at Amazon so if I don't rent 4 movies I'm "buying up" House MD SD episodes.

One free Kindle book a month.

I have a Kindle Fire and have a few things on it and the experience has been great.

I'm still in.

Amazon would be sweating bullets if Walmart pulled the same maneuver. I don't think Walmart has much interest in competing directly with Amazon in the Internet space, however.

not amazon directly, but check "protein factory" to compare pea protein price. if you get on their email list, they have free shipping with order over 99 dollars sometimes. i used to get like 50 pounds of stuff at a time and was supplied for the year.

if you are taking gatorade drink powder, i think walmart has the best price so far. ship to store to offset shipping.

Amazon prime has added Prime Music. Like prime movies you can stream select music to your various devices. For me this is great, more bang for the buck and at least we are getting something else for the increase in the yearly fee. I am sure there will be many who say they don't want this, would never use this, and just want cheaper unlimited 2 day shipping. Both points of view are valid. As I said I am glad I am getting something else i will use for my annual fee. Now if Amazon would just settle their differences with Warner Bros. and start taking Warner pre orders again.

I like the Prime Music that they added and it does go a long ways to offset the rise in price.

If you had asked me before, I would have said Prime Music wouldn't make a difference to me ... That said I am impressed and will stay. I am amazed that you can actually download the music (not just stream it).

I don't consider myself a "music person" (I prefer talk radio and podcasts) but I downloaded well over $20 of music the first night.

My only current complaint is this oddity: I was able to download the app and start using Prime Music right away on my iPad. We are still waiting for the air push on our multiple Kindles!

Now ... If they would just make the books unlimited downloads ...

Currently you can only download Prime Music on mobile devices and not on your computer. You can play the music on your computer from the cloud. Also if you delete a song or album from your cloud, Amazon also deletes the local download if you downloaded it.

I am guessing if Prime Music rotates what music is available as Prime like Prime movies do, than anything you downloaded would be deleted when it is no longer Prime. You would probably have the option to purchase something you downloaded that was no longer Prime. Of course this is just a guess on my part.

I recently found out that computers can only have *ONE* account connected to them. Meaning I can't be signed in with my Amazon account, log out, and then my someone else log in to download their music. Well you can change, except that to switch back an fourth requires you to wait 129 days to do so. We use a single computer in this house to store all our music, and we will download any albums/songs we buy to that computer. This 4 month wait pretty much makes buying any digital music from amazon completely worthless.

I'm guessing this is because of Prime Music, if so, it does nothing to make me wanna join. Looks like I'm gonna have to use Google Play to get any digital music.
