I've just received a three dvd package from Amazon.....What a surprise!!!!! A very big box, dvds attached at the botton, and "airbags" on top of this all to prevent any accident. Plus, all this for free thanks to gift certificates!!
Great service Amazon, thanks!

True, but I've been enjoying this while it lasts. I would estimate I have bought around 70 or so of my DVDs from Amazon for free, or for around $4, shipped, thanks to GCs and the Harry Potter Coupon.

This month's deliveries: Braveheart (free); Supergirl LE (free); Madonna Truth or Dare (free); Dracula ($5); Chaplin (free); Princess Bride (free); Glory ($10); Lathe of Heaven (free); Kindred: The Embraced ($4); Passion of Joan of Arc CC (free); Psycho ($7.47); T2 Limited Ed (free); Magnolia Platinum Ed. ($7); Stephen Hawking's Universe ($10); Sound of Music (free); and Battleship Potemkin (free).

God Bless Amazon. I just hope they keep it up for awhile longer.

I don't know, but lots of people are raving about it, and I figure that, for free, I can give it a shot. I did that with "The Whole Nine Yards," and was very pleased with that movie.

Guys, I think you all missed my point: all right it was free, but my point here was the exceptionnal packaging of this parcel: Remember I live in France and it takes some time to get to my mail box. With Reel.com, a few dvds got here with broken boxes or running free in the box.
So my point here was that none of this can happen with Amazon excellent shipping "policy".
Yes, it's free, so it's still better!!!

I don't think any of us missed your point. My point was just that Amazon is a great company overall, and we should enjoy everything -- the great service, reliability, and reasonable pricing -- while it lasts.

I think a lot of people think that the free DVD's they are getting from Amazon are coming out of Amazon's pocket. You're getting these from other sites who have PAID Amazon for them. Yes, they may get some slight discount (i.e., they pay $8.50 for a $10 GC), but the fact remains that Amazon is receiving money for their product. It's just from the site, not from you.

I never "earn" them. Usually there are two or three sites a week where you sign up, and they send you a free GC. Right now, http://www.Carclub.com is one. I also will do a survey that takes me less than 5 minutes for a $10+ GC, and I am registered with Vividence. These, in all, get me around $15 a week or so in Amazon GCs.

And given the recent Harry Potter coupon, which could be combined with most of these GCs, I (thanks to the generosity of friends and family who would never have used the coupon for themselves) was getting tons of free orders over the last month.

Brak55: you are right. Amazon is selling their GCs in bulk to these sites at a discount. Amazon makes money on the sale, and the sites get a discounted way to promote their sites.

Don't you get inundated with tons of spam and junk mail after filling out all those questionnaires and handing out your e-mail address all over the place?

Sometimes you do, but isn't it worth it for free DVDs? And besides, most of the time you can easily cancel the e-mail messages, and likewise keep the rewards!
