Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

Yeah I noticed the same extra login and shipping address confirmations.

I also noticed they don't seem to show shipping now, today, soon anymore. Granted they were rarely accurate but it did give a clue that something was happening. Now I just see when they think it will arrive with no indication on when it might ship.

Well, email Amazon so I'm not the only one. They broke this shit. They need to fix it.

edit: and why the fuck am I seeing a new login page now!? It only shows my email address. Then I click continue. THEN I can input my password on the next page. What the fuck is this shit!? Why are they breaking everything? I'm back to seeing an entirely separate page for choosing my shipping address too!

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

A Amazon price comparison bar just started showing up when visiting other store sites like Target and Barnes & Noble on top of my screen.Really pissing me off and I'm going to let the Big A know it.

Am I the only one having issues when returning things to Amazon? I don't do it often but the few times that I have really haven't been pleasant at all.
No I guess I been lucky and I do not return much until the last few years I been not getting what was advertise or broken product mostly from Warehouse Deals.I been buy less at Amazon and all other stores.

But it has been easy returns or sometimes A discount.Like A set of bicycle wheels they sent me where missing the quick release hardware. So they gave me A $40 off the $175 set of wheels.

A 3Piece Tee Set for my kid that only had one shirt.Got A return label and refund in about 3 or 4 days after I sent it back.

But the deals are getting less as they get bigger..etc

That's the Amazon Assistant add-on. You can uninstall it from your browser.

I always take Warehouse Deals' descriptions with a grain of salt, since they are almost always horrifically inaccurate, which is why I usually don't order from them. I once ordered a DVD from them that was allegedly "factory sealed" with a "small wrinkle / crease in cover art", and the entire back insert looked like a dog had gotten ahold of it. The case wasn't damaged, which led me to believe it had been replaced (if the artwork was that mangled the case would've been too), so it wasn't "factory sealed". I've learned that items they note as being "factory sealed" usually aren't, but rather used with new shrink wrap on it.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

Their delivery estimates are getting to be way off, and they can't keep them. For example, I ordered on the 23rd, with a delivery date of the 30th-1st. As a non-Prime customer then I expected the wait and that's fine. They held the package until the 29th to ship out from Salt Lake City (to LA, CA), but missed the delivery date and now say it'll be here by the 6th. Damn. If it's going to take so long then either ship it sooner or give a better estimate in the first place.

And that's only the majority of the items. I had a WB TV show DVD shipped from Indiana that'll arrive by the 5th. And the last "in-stock" item still hasn't shipped, and now shows a "We'll need a little more time" message.

Meanwhile, a recent HC book I ordered (a NYT #1 seller, so nothing obscure) shipped from Houston and the box got beat up in the process. That's an 8-9 day wait for a replacement, with the same "We're holding this on purpose because you're not Prime". Which I get when it's a new order, but for a replacement? Which probably could've been avoided if it traveled a shorter distance, like if they'd used a distribution center in my actual time zone.

Yeah, more and more I'm seeing the separate pages for e-mail and then password. Pretty ridiculous. Especially for "highly secure" info like checking my order history.

Sounds like it's misplaced in their warehouse. They send a specialist out to find it (or confirm it's lost). And they might have more on the way, and will ship as soon as they come in stock again.

I'm a Prime member and am still getting 100% on-time delivery. I generally only buy Amazon-fulfilled products.

I'm a Prime member, and I've had 4 shipments late in the past couple months. All carrier delays, but I don't mind cause it's usually only a day or two, and it means 4 more months of Prime membership free for me.

When I've received something damaged from Amazon, they've always sent the replacement immediately via 2nd day shipping even when the original was ordered with free shipping.

As far as "We're holding this on purpose because you're not Prime" goes, I don't know if that's an official policy or not, to intentionally delay shipping to punish customers for not being Prime members, but Amazon is really the slowest shipper out of all online retailers I use. Deepdiscount and Best Buy will generally ship my orders the same day I place an order or the next day, but Amazon typically takes a week to ten days to ship in-stock items.

Strangely enough, Not long ago, I placed an Amazon order for two in-stock items with free shipping. They split the order, shipping one item the next day, and sat on the second one for about ten days, past the delivery estimate.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

Some Shipping dates have been so off/late.

I pre-ordered the new Misery BD around October and it was released last week. It just shipped today.

And yes I'm a Prime member.

I’ve had a couple of orders delayed as well, but both were due to Amazon issues. I can understand if an item is out of stock at a wherehouse, but their site never updates an item will be delayed until well past the estimated delivery time. Case in point The order page is still saying my latest order will be delivered by 8pm tonight, when In fact after checking with an agent via chat that it will not be delivered until tomorrow. I’ll take the extra month of Prime, but I guess guaranteed delivery dates don’t mean what they used to.

I just canceled my Prime membership. I don't stream movie and TV shows and they can't seem to get things delivered when promised so I don't see the need for it.

Maybe. I've been wondering if it might be more an issue with the supplier or in the delivery chain, especially as it's now moved to "Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we'll deliver when available." status, but at least they've noticed.

This one is Amazon-fulfilled, although in the past I've not really had an issue with them locating the marketplace products, at least that I can recall.

Yeah, I understand. I don't mind so much when it's a day or so, and if I was getting free months of service then I'd probably be good with it too. But I'm literally looking at 6-7 days overdue, or more, beyond the promised date. At that point I can't help but want a better estimate and/or for them to stop waiting so long to send orders out.

The worst one is ordered on the 23rd, shipped on the 29th with delivery estimated to be the 30th-1st, and an actual delivery of the 5th (for most of it, it's looking like), the 6th (for the Indiana one), and still unknown for the last.

A big example of "Overpromise and Underdeliver" imo.

I'm honestly glad for you. When I call I always get replacements offered with 1-2 day shipping too. But sometimes when I use the automated online process then it works out like this. Maybe I should always call? I don't want to seem like too much of a problem and don't need it rushed, but feel like they could send a single popular book out sooner than this. Ordered (early) on the 30th and still not sent out, with an estimate of the 7th-8th (which hopefully they can keep, but I'll see).

And yeah, Amazon generally seems to be the slowest, although I had Target take quite awhile with a 3 title order earlier this year, and they even broke the shipment into 3, so it's not like they were holding it. My sympathies on your split order.

Meanwhile, I'm also sorry to hear that DJariya & yunro are having similar experiences too, as Prime customers it shouldn't happen like that. Hopefully they can rebound soon, and this isn't indicative of a new policy or a permanent decline.

Well, somebody besides me needs to complain, because I'm getting nowhere with these assholes. I emailed them about the login shit, not keeping me signed in, and not remembering my delivery and billing preferences to skip to last step of checkout every time. The stupid foreign fuckwits replied with a link to reset my password. I lost it. They haven't answered this one yet...

Learn to fucking read you foreign fucking bastards! I don't need a password reset. I can login fine. The problem is the site doesn't keep me logged in like it used to when I check the box. It doesn't remember "delivery and billing preferences" to skip to last step of checkout like it used to, and the login page is 2 separate pages (1 for email, then 1 for password) for no retarded fucking reason! YOU CHANGED SOMETHING within the past month. NOW UN-FUCKING-DO IT.

Original message: Stop breaking the website for those of us who still prefer PC over phone apps. I've always ticked the box on Amazon to "keep me logged in" and rarely had to login. However, the past few weeks the goddamn site is making me login every visit for everything AND it's a different login page. The login page used to be email and password entry on the same page. Now it's email, click "continue" to next page, THEN I get to enter my password. What the fuck is this bullshit!?!? Put back the way it was and stop fucking with it. When I check a box that says "Keep me signed in," I expect it to remember me for more than 5 fucking minutes. Fix this. Also, the checkout has stopped saving my "billing and delivery preferences" as per that checkbox. It's even giving me an entirely separate page to select my fucking delivery address like it used to do years ago. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!? It makes no sense that these two things would suddenly stop working in mid November unless you clowns broke something in prep for Black Friday. My Chrome version hasn't changed. Hell, I haven't even closed my browser the past month, but all of a sudden nothing is saved? It's not a goddamn cache issue. I know of others that are seeing it happen too. It's something ON YOUR END.

I've heard it's more secure to have login and password on separate screens, but I'm not a cybersecurity expert.

If your chrome hasn't updated in over a month because you haven't closed it, that's likely a problem. It should auto update. But I think I know why they haven't responded to you.

Chrome doesn't need to update for Amazon's fucking site to work correctly.

Still waiting for Birth Of A Nation [Blu-ray].Says Monday

Not really A complaint.Still happy with Amazon
One of my orders was lost in transit.A few blu's and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2: Awesome Mix Vol. 2 Warehouse Deal.Did live chat and they shipped the movies for next day delivery and received credit for the CD.

They are growing so fast and I can live with the slower shipping times.

I was bouncing between Amazon US and Amazon UK for part of the afternoon and always had the username and password fields on the same screen. But last spring I suffered some login issues of my own, which are documented here

https://forum.dvdtalk.com/store-foru...l#post13054657

if you want to follow the story. Like me, it's possible your online habits have triggered some little-known security feature which their rank-and-file customer service hasn't encountered and thus will have a hard time fixing. My last post on the topic includes a possible solution, but please first do some tech support 101 and clear cookies, restart the browser, etc. I had some crashes this afternoon just needed to clear Firefox's cache. If you follow through, please be polite, and let us know how it goes.

I've made a few purchases from Amazon UK the past couple of months and noticed this up until my last order a few weeks ago. The last order I placed had the same two page setup as Amazon US. This was just before Thanksgiving.

Talking about Amazon UK, has anyone had issues with their packages lately?

Previous to my last two orders, everything I'd ordered before from the UK came thru well packaged. Plenty of cushioning material in boxes that were appropriately sized (larger than actually necessary, if anything).

But... my last two orders had no packing material to cushion stuff, and were in boxes that had been cut down or altered. Both orders were movies (three in one, two in the other). When the first arrived two cases rattled when shaken, and one rattled in the second order. All three were three disc sets and in each case the hinge pins on middle disc holder had broken. I'm fairly certain this was due to the way they were packed and shipped. No damage to the discs, but I need to replace the cases.

Something else I just realized after I posted this. I have yet to receive any Amazon UK emails asking for feedback on these orders.

Coincidence?

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

Bought a couple of Christmas gifts for some friends.

One gift was supposed to come by Saturday and is now delayed 3 possibly 4 days.

Another gift is out for delivery and it's now approaching 7pm PT and I haven't received notification that it's been delivered yet.

I don't know if this is Amazon's fault or the USPS. I chose the slow option for delivery (USPS) and it's really slow as shit.
