Re: Amazon Prime Instant Video - News & Updates

Since I'd let some previous credits expire, I figured I'd actually use mine this time. Confusing, though. I buy one-click and can't see a credit. If I go to my completed order, I did get the credit, but it doesn't explicitly say so. At least I did get it, though.

Item(s) Subtotal: $16.99
----
Total Before Tax: $10.99
Tax Collected: $1.04
----
Total for this Order: $12.03

Re: Amazon Prime Instant Video - News & Updates

Lots of $0.99 VOD Rentals right now. These are all SD.

Crazy Stupid Love
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2
The Change-Up
Horrible Bosses
Conan the Barbarian
Larry Crowne
Green Lantern
Bridesmaids
Beginners
Trespass
Fast Five
Jane Eyre
Win Win
Scream 4

Once you order, you have 30 days to watch them. If you have a Roku, just go to Your Video Library inside the Amazon channel.

Also noticed on the Roku there's a couple $2.99 HD Rentals:

Thor
Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Cars 2
Captain America

UPDATE - If you order Amazon VOD through the Roku, the 48-hour rental period will start right away. You have to place your order through the Amazon website to get the full 30-day expiration date.

Re: Amazon Prime Instant Video - News & Updates

Shouldn't the rental sales be in a different thread since the thread is about the free Prime Instant videos?

Re: Amazon Prime Instant Video - News & Updates

How does SD look? I rented "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil" last night in HD (using some of my VOD credit) and it looked pretty good. I'd like to take advantage of this $.99 sale, but only if the video quality is at least decent.

By the way, I'm wireless on a Roku and always get four dot HD streams when watching HD via Prime instant.

Thanks,
nick

There aren't that many posts, so I didn't see the point of doing two threads. But if a Mod wants to change the title to "Amazon Instant Video - Prime & Rentals" (or something else), that's fine by me.

I watched Priest in SD and thought it looked pretty good. I'd probably call it DVD quality. If you have Amazon Prime, you can test some of the free SD movies.

Re: Amazon Prime Instant Video - News & Updates

I had about $25 in credit so far. So I have been getting those $0.99 deal of the day rentals. So far I have rented only SD content. They look like dvd quality to me. No problems playing any of the movies. So far I have rented stuff I would not probably not buy on Blu-ray. Here is what I have rented so far. I still have about half ($12.01) in credit left.

1. The Lincoln Lawyer
2. The Adjustment Bureau
3. Super
4. Sucker Punch - Purchased on Blu-ray after watching
5. Mars Needs Moms
6. Rango
7. Fast Five - Purchased on Blu-ray after watching
8. Thor
9. Transformer 3 - freebie rental after purchasing Blu-ray in BF sale
10. Win Win
11. Crazy, Stupid, Love
12. Conan The Barbarian

Where can you tell if you have credit that is expiring?

When I bought Dumbo and Lion King they sent an email saying the free credit would expire on November 30. You have to check the email that indicates when you received credit. otherwise you'd probably have to contact amazon to check.

The only site I've seen that tracks Amazon streaming movies is TVandMoviesNow.com. But I haven't been able to get the search engine to show Amazon exclusive titles.

http://www.tvandmoviesnow.com/

Anyone know any other sites?

Re: Amazon Prime Instant Video - News & Updates

Amazon just tweeted that all 9 episodes of ABC TV-series Pan Am is now available for Free. I don't know if that's for all customers or just Prime. They say it's for a limited time. It's available in SD & HD.

I went to Amazon and "purchased" all the episodes. It's free, so there was no charge. But hopefully that'll keep the episodes in my Video Library after the offer is expired.

I posted this in the deals forum as well. It's the first 9 of 14 episodes. The season resumes on January 8th. It's all customers.

It's not just Amazon. It's also Itunes and VuDu that is participating.

Re: Amazon Prime Instant Video - News & Updates

Thanks for posting the Pan Am deal. I got all nine episodes and got individual order confirmations for each one. Wasn't sure if buying a season pass would work since the season isn't over.

Re: Amazon Prime Instant Video - News & Updates

If you rent a title from a list of Paramount & Anchor Bay movies, you get a $5 coupon to buy any of the movies on DVD or Blu-ray. There's a couple $0.99 rentals on the list.

For a limited time only, rent the SD or HD version of any of the below titles and get a $5 credit towards the purchase of that title on DVD or Blu-ray. You may also use the $5 credit towards the purchase of a select set of products on DVD and Blu-ray.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...cId=1000610831
It looks like the Paramount rentals get a $5 coupon for a Paramount disc. And the Anchor Bay rentals get an Anchor Bay coupon.

I rented Sunshine Cleaning for $0.99 and got Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil [Four-Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy] for $8.99.
