Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?
These days it seems like for anything beyond a very basic customer service question, their phone support will direct you to send an email.
I've had two damaged/defective orders from them in the last decade, and both were resolved properly, even if they don't do advanced replacement shipping like Amazon. The only unresolved issue I had with them was a dispute over shipping charges about 6 years ago where they promised me a partial shipping refund on the phone, and then later denied it over email when I followed up because I hadn't received it. I just disputed that with my credit card company and got the money back that way.
And I actually have a counter-example for that. A few years ago I had placed a pre-order for the Resident Evil 4k boxset. On checking a couple weeks later (still in the pre-order phase), I noticed that the price had dropped by a couple dollars, and also, they had eliminated a $2.99 shipping surcharge that they were previously levying. They adjusted the price, and, after a couple rounds back and forth, they even agreed to refund the shipping surcharge. I had ordered with some discount promo, I think, which is why I didn't just cancel and reorder.
