Amazon Close my Accout

I'm not sure how to take this other then "HUH?" Amazon close my account today. Why?

I have placed 611 orders (not items orders). This year. This has to do with me having a Droid on my side (can we say easy ordering?). I have done 18 returns.

I have never had buyers remorse on anything. If I bought it I bought it. If it does not work I return it. I would return it anywhere, who would keep something that does not work that they just bought. Same goes with items ship bad. My Sound of Music Collectors box set. The music box was cracked and the side of the box was hit hard.

I did have a problem with MP sellers on 24, they could not count to 6 or 7 and would send me sets of them with only 2 or 4 discs. They took up most of the 18 returns. 2 was for a price change. The rest for items that did not work.

All in all in since 1997 I have been a happy camper. I still am. Just a little taken back. I have setup a new account, but will keep it off my droid for a bit. I'm sure they will not miss my money, but they will hear me out and not send me a form email (I am a stock holder).

Has this happen to anyone else?

Wow, you do alot of shopping on Amazon. You must spend alot of $$ too.

I think Amazon did you a favor. Think of all the $$ you will save.

Seriously, I think the 18 returns is probably what flagged your account. Amazon probably has some upper limit on returns per account without regard to the number of purchases....

You are better off not spending all that $$. It is a blessing in disguise.

Ya I guess, one thing that I guess I should have posted. I was busy most of this year and did not have time to run out to Target, Wal-mart. So some of those others was items I would have bought there.

Wow, that is scary for heavy users of Amazon. Anyone that makes a lot of orders with Amazon knows that their shipping practices will occasionally damage an item. Not a lot, but a small percentage of stuff needs to be returned or replaced. Amazon definitely tracks the number of returns each customer makes, even if the return was due to Amazon's fault. But as far as I know, they have never published their criteria for closing accounts.

It has to be the number of returns. I've been an Amazon customer for probably a decade now, and I've maybe returned 1 or 2 items in that entire span. 18, even if we're talking about multiple years, is quite excessive. What, exactly, were you returning? If I had to make that many returns to a company, I would have stopped shopping with them at around return 6 or 7.

I wonder if they track the profit on people too. 611 orders or 6000 orders, with Prime it would be easy to be costing them a fortune instead of making them anything, depending on what you order and how you order it.

Just call and see what they say. I'd be very curious to hear.

I thought my wife and I were the amazon king and queen, and we make probably 100-120 orders a year with them. Over 600...wow.

But in 12 years as a customer, I think I've maybe done two returns.

Ok, it's been five days since the original post. What did the OP find out when calling Amazon?

When I saw the syntax, the first thing I thought of was "Put some Windex on it."

18? In a row?

Seriously 18 returns is alot you're just way too picky. Normally picky people don't know their picky. Retailers rather not even sell to picky people cause in the long wrong its a pain in the ass for them. For amazon not to want your business anymore not only did you return too many times but you prob bitched alot.

3 item by itself was 50 orders. Why they turn 3 big orders into 50 is be on me. The main item was one part and then you could order extra items to turn it into 13 levels. You bought 8 trays, plus you would need to buy 10, plus another 10 to have everything you need. I had order one to test and then order the other 2 with all the parts for all 3. No none of the items when back. It was a dehydrator.

For the most part even I would have looked at it and I did look at it in a business way. What the CS did not look at was why those where sent back. 8/9 of them was for the TV show 24, I had order them used and not one of the sets came with all the discs (would you keep them?). This was a order that was placed in the time of one week. Then re orders, returns and I gave up and order them new. One was for B5.

One was a bread maker (order 15 of them). One had a problem, again.

Yes it was a lot but if you bought this items at Target or anywhere else would you keep something that was not right or would you take it back?

In the end I learn not to buy from MP sellers. Out of the 18 returns 13 of them (this year and in the last month) has been all MP sellers.

It is the holidays and when you need to make bread, you really need to make bread.

500 Loafs by Saturday, we still need to make. These give me 15 loafs every 72 mins.

Not really, especially considering the amount of items drq2 purchased. You sound quite fortunate from your experience. I've ordered over a hundred items from Amazon in the last three years and have had to exchanged more than a dozen of them. The fault may go to my postal carrier, as at least half of those were attributed to broken DVD cases and scratched up discs. Mostly, these issues occurred around the holidays. Also, a few box sets were delivered looking like the warehouse workers had played hockey with the packaging -- and a couple trade paperbacks arrived with the glue detached from the spines and the covers creased. It's unfortunate, but it happens.

I'm sure my returns ratio seems unusually high, but I continue to use Amazon because they've always resolved my problems with no hassle and continue to provide the best prices on many of the products that interest me. If they ever choose to close my account, it's their prerogative. However, if I pay for a "new" item then I won't be accepting damaged goods. Whether it occurred from shoddy packaging or in the warehouse -- any employee who inspects the items I return can see that I was justified in sending them back, not just being a picky customer. They really should make an effort of verifying the damages on a customer's account.

BTW, I've ordered over twice as much from Deep Discount in the same timeframe and only received two or three items that were less than pristine.

Maybe they think you're reselling stuff that you buy from them.

I don't see how they would care about this.. anyone could be doing the same. It's not like he's paying Wholesale prices.

Thanks for the update. I am glad you have an account now, since they close your accout earlier.
