I placed 4 orders this past weekend during their 25% off $ale. I got shipping notices today BUT was completely surprised to find the DVD's in my mail box this afternoon the same day I recieved the shipping notices!!! Absolutely unbelievable for DD as I know them. Needless to say I was VERY pleased and hope that this kind of service will hold up!

Got all my stuff in 2 shipments. Wish I hadn't cancelled all of my old backorders out of anger a few weeks ago, had some good deals I gave up.

I've had all of my black friday orders ship and even my one remaining old order. The Black Friday orders all arrived within a few days of shipment.

New management, huh? Does that explain why I finally got the DVD I ordered back in September? (no joke! I gave up hope of ever seeing it delivered!)

My guess is that it is a result of them getting a tiny fraction of the orders they're used to this go around. Since I'm sure forums like us provide most of their business for this sale and we and other forums have torn them to shreds over the last year or so.

Fewer orders are easier to fulfill.

But the one I wanted was not available on amazon.com (or elsewhere) when I ordered it. It was Bird on a Wire (the Leonard Cohen DVD.) I thought rights issues were keeping it from being released so I was just hoping DD had a few in stock before the rights issues came up and would mail it to me.

When it went on back order I figured what the hell...let it ride until they cancel it. So I was quite surprised to get it. Anything else and I probably wouldn't have bothered with them.

I just got the last item from my September order. I have to admit, I didn't think I would ever get it. I'm glad to get my stuff but having to wait 3 months for two Blu-Rays doesn't make me want to run out and place a new order.

I am yet to get anything from my Sept4 order... alas.. I bet someday the order will either dissapear... or I may in fact get some or all of it.. I had a columbiahouse order sit in limbo for years.. until they changed their web-site over to the new design.. at which time.. the order dissapeared... the funny thing was the order was a b1g1.. and I got the g1.. the title that never came was the b1 part..

I just received shipping notification for the 1 Item I ordered on Sep 14. I guess I should be thrilled that they managed to fulfill it.

Same here, just received some blu-rays that I ordered in September. I'm glad I got them before Xmas. I guess the new owner injected some cash/credit into DD so the vendors will ship to them. Hope they survive and thrive. Competition is always good for the consumer.
