Ebay -Golden Girls CS 1-7 Buyers Beware!!!

Picked up The Golden Girls CS 1-7 from an ebay seller and got them today and was HORRIFIED at the PQ! It was so blurry and pixelized that it was unwatchable! I've seen VHS tapes that were 10 times better than this picture was! I immediately emailed the seller for a refund to this junk. I don't know where this came from but buyers should avoid this set at all cost. I've never experienced something quite like this before! I was naturally VERY disappointed

Who would have guessed the bootleg you bought had bad quality?

What are you being rude for, Josh? for all we know this person had no idea they were bootlegs, they might not even know now.

That's not the picture quality, that's just how old wrinkly broads look.

You got a bootleg.

I've seen seasons 1 and 2 of the legitimate release, and they're definitely watchable.

Yes. I've pleasured myself to these DVD's many time. You got a bootleg.

A good 80% of DVD's on eBay are bootlegs. I still don't understand why nobody has cracked down on it. I won't even look for DVD's on there.

A link to the listing would be helpful. There are likely hundreds of listings. We can then go piece by piece how obvious it was or was not of being a bootleg. I see tons of 1-7 (many by new sellers with 0 feedback).

I found your ebay Username and can't find any completed auctions within the past 30 days. So you'll have to provide a link to the listing (if it' still available) and more information. The only new feedback you have if from 3 months ago so I can't even pull up the listing.

I have bought many dvds off ebay, and not once have I gotten anything that even remotely looked like a bootleg. I think your percentage is WAY high.

What exactly is the wait time on shipments from China?

That's exactly my thinking on this. There are plenty of Season 1-7 on eBay for $70, but they are from people with 0 feedbacks who likely will ship from China (even though their location does not say so). But since I couldn't find any complete auctions from the OP within the past 30 days, and since he is just now complaining, he likely bought bootlegs (probably very cheap). Without a link or anything I am going to assume the OP was just not paying very much attention to the listing and instead the low price.

I've gotten 1 bootleg DVD off eBay, but it was from someone with very high feedback and nothing that indicated it would be fake. I prompt e-mail the seller got me my money back.

I've since only buy stuff that show actual pictures and not the stock ones.

It is not that difficult to tell who is selling bootlegs on ebay. The first tip off should be price. If it is to good to be true it is......

A lot of sellers have been selling since 1998 or 2000 so I assume they can't be crooked since they could not have gotten at least 10,000 points or more by fooling everybody without getting caught for that long period of time even though their prices are low (Dukes Hazzard Seasons 1-7 $79)

Out of curiosity, which one do you find most attractive?

And I agree that it's not that hard to spot bootlegs. These are all red flags:
* Seller is foreign
* Package looks different than normal
* DVD set is new, or is new without an explanation ("I got this as a gift and didn't want it")
* Seller has more than one of the same DVD for sale
* Seller only sells DVDs though this is a minor red flag

If still in doubt, just send the seller and say that you are worried about bootlegs, where did they buy their DVDs? If they ignore you then just don't buy from them.

One other thing, if you do get bootlegs contact the seller and demand a refund, and/or leave negative feedback.
