eBay/PayPal Holding Money?
I'm wondering how some eBay sellers deal with PayPal holding your money for days, weeks.
They say you have to ship it, then they give you back the shipping, they say the buyer needs to leave feedback (eBay can close your account if you ask for this), to get your money, the rules change.
Most people that read what I post has a idea what I am doing with them. Out of the blue we sold some extra items. Funny thing is this was to real people. PayPal has put holds on the money. We are in turn putting holds on the items till we get the money. We can do this by Calif laws. This has for better words piss off the real people. I do not wish to give them credit, and its not even any kind of test of eBay or PP rules. Sad part is these people really paid. When its all said an done, we are going to mail them the items and not take their money. Its a rule that we had missed.
I am wondering how others hand this. Do you ship the items and hope you get your money or ???

I ship all my items after the auction is over and the customer pays. My beef isn't with the customer, who would now have a valid reason for negative feedback and/or pissing them off enough to have them start a dispute for some reason.
I know I wouldn't buy from a seller that ever did that crap with me.

Holds also get automatically released after 2 weeks(I think, give or take a few days), if they don't leave feedback.

Side Note, We did send out 20 items to get some kind of idea what and how they handle this.
The issues has to do with PayPal. We run all kinds of rule test on eBay but till last week. PP was something we never ran. They are a Bank that does not have to follow bank rules. Another post.
They have feedback rules in place. They tell you that if the buyer leaves you feedback they will give you the money. They in turn tell you to email the buyer. Yet we have 14 accounts that have been closed for asking for feedback.
They are asking you to break their own rules.
By sending out the 20 items what matters is I gave credit to those people. The point is, as sellers how do you handle this. They are keeping your money, the buyer did pay you, they can and from what I have seen do what they wish again they are a bank without bank rules.
The beef your talking about other then the feedback, there is little they can do. Yes they paid PayPal. PP did not pay you, PP asked you to give Credit to them, even if they paid.
I would also like to add, the 20 that was ship, everyone has gotten their items. Yes the ones that left feedback (we cannot leave them feedback) the money was put into the account. There is 17 people that has gotten their items and PP has given us so many answers we have to go thought all the tapes (we tape all phone calls and person to person) to get some kind of understanding on what they are really trying to say.

i don't know but i've been on eBay since 99 and sold and bought
they never held money
i created another acct a few months ago and when i went to sell for the first time, they hed the money...but when the buyer leaves positive feedback it's released
i think once you aquire a certain number of positive selling experiences they'll stop; also high risk items they may opt to hold until the transaction is complete

On a side note, one that was started last week (test account) all the money(s) was paid out. Same kind only this one was movies, and sex items.

Re: eBay/PayPal Holding Money?
Let's see if I understand this. You have had fourteen accounts closed already, because you refused to follow the rules. You admit that a buyer has paid for merchandise you listed/sold on eBay. And you are refusing to send the buyer whatever it is they paid for because you have a disagreement on policy with a third party.
Have I missed anything?
Oh, right. You're creating "test" accounts ... In other words, duplicate accounts, with which you're buying and selling to yourself. That's referred to as "shill" on eBay rules, so not only are you refusing to work within the rules you agreed to with PayPal, you're doing the same on eBay? Wow. You've got a rather hefty amount of nerve there, don't ya?

Re: eBay/PayPal Holding Money?
In away your right, but the test account now one bids on, the shipping is set way to bloody high. We paid all fees from boy eBay and PP. There is nothing to bitch about. As for shilling we would have to have someone bid on anything, being again the person who wins (us) over bids the hell out of the item if anyone in their right mind would pay so much for it. Has and should have their head looked. This post is not about that.
Well we have had more the 14 account close. More like 100 plus in since 98. If you would like to put a funny part to it. Not one was a buyer account (where it should have been close) again another post.
This post has to do with PP holding of money. I did not disagree with any policy. Why and how come we can sell us a Starwars toy for $200 (cost to everyone else about 4/5 plus shipping)the money is the account asap. Where a .99 movie has its 99 (free shipping)cent money be on hold. You miss the point in all this.
As for the Porn, Ya it was a joke. We make up these things as we go along. Funny part why no one has ever bid on anything. They have asked us about them.

Your right (as I said) they are a bank without bank rules. We are in the US. We spent a little time going over their legal docs again. They had made a chance that we never seen (then again we do not really care about PP). We now know, PP Legal was also on the phone with us today.
I hate to say it, PP and eBay has setup something that really does help the buyer in this case.

Re: eBay/PayPal Holding Money?
I'm about to ask for my money back on an Ebay purchase. I understand that I just purchased the item a week ago but the seller has not responded to my multiple emails this week. I emailed the seller on Sunday about the item, the only one she was selling, and got a response that day. She told me that she would be shipping the item out on Monday and would email me the shipping information. Well, Monday came and went and nothing. So on Tuesday I emailed her and politely asked what was going on and to please respond. I received nothing in response. On Wednesday I sent out another polite email and received nothing in return. Now Thursday rolls around with no communication from the seller and I'm getting pissed. The seller has 100% rating but only 11 feedback. I told the seller that she had 24 hours to at least respond or I would contact paypal. Well, more than 24 hours have passed and I have received no response. I'm sure that I'm going to have to wait a week or two to be reimbursed for my money but I sure as shit don't want her to get ahold of it if she is trying to commit wire fraud.
