Re: DvdPlanet Site Has Been Offline Since Weekend?
I was growing concerned myslef as I had recently sent them a big box of DVD's for trade in and hadn't heard anything yet. I did reply to the quote email just to see what happened as I as worried everything was shut off. I got the auto reply within a few minutes, it may mean nothing, but at least I had hope that the site is coming back up.
I have also noticed that the error or pages I have been getting have been different at different times. This morning, for example I got an generic under construction and now I am back to page cannot be displayed.
I can't find a phone number or I would have called them by now to see what I could find out. I find it extremely odd that this is now in its third day with no temporary page and no email sent out to their registered users.
I am just crossing my fingers!

I just got a shipping notice this morning (Tuesday, June 2nd).
It looks like their operations are still ongoing despite their website being down.
A hopeful sign I guess?

I'm sure a lot of us were saving up our credit for a possible sale this month... hope that's not derailed. I've always been nervous when dealing w DVD Planet, they're just a little unprofessional on some things... kinda like this!

I also have a large store credit from all the dvds I've been trading in, waiting for a possible great sale.
I have to say that this situation doesn't look good. It almost seems like they are winding down their operations. They are filling orders that have already been submitted by customers, but not taking any new orders (maybe that's why the website is down.)
With the website being down for the 3rd day, they have had enough time to put a placeholder type web page that said something like "excuse us while we work to bring you a better shopping experience, etc" the usual corporate line.
Time will tell. All we can do is S.W.A.T. (Sit, Watch And Talk about it until the website comes back online or a BK is announced in the local press...)

I called yesterday and they said that their tech guys were working on it and that the site would be back up in 24 hours. That was about 28 hours ago...

I called myself before I saw these recent posts (as I realized thanks to another post where I could find the number) and spoke to a rep and was told they are working on the problem but there is no ETA.

Damn. I've got a few titles for the Quote Machine that I'd like to send off before a possible upcoming event happens. Then again, that's what I get for procrastinating ...probably won't receive any credit before the end of the month anyway.

It's up with a message saying it's down for maintenance and will be back up shortly. At least they have something up now..

It's slow, but everything appears to be in order. My credit is there, prices about the same... good to go.

Site appears to be back online, but some prices have been raised by a couple of bucks. Sounds like somebody's gearing up for the sale-that-shall-not-be-named(and-that-after-all-the-last-minute-price-increases-is-barely-a-sale-at-all).....

Re: DvdPlanet Site Has Been Offline Since Weekend?
Yep... "dead" down today with this message:
"No web site is configured at this address."
If it's truly a tech issue it's very major to be having problems for this length of time. That message implies there is a misconfiguration of IIS on the host end. With all the problems it sounds like it could be a major hardware failure/rebuild scenario.
If anyone from DVDPlanet is reading, here's your fix for this one...
