Anyone buy from ***********.com?
I'm nervous buying online because I don't know how to spot the difference between bootleg DVDs and authentic. All I know is I can save a lot of money if I choose to buy a TV series from some websites or even Ebay rather than in a store like FYE or Bestbuy. I'm interested in buying this Nip/Tuck set but am not sure if I can trust this site and their very cheap prices.
***********.com Where it says "Region Free: Worldwide" in the Niptuck season 1-5 boxed set description (dvdtalk wont let me post URLs yet) threw off a red flag with me and sounds fishy. I don't own many DVDs but I don't ever see authentic region free DVDs and I figured it should say Region 1 instead. If it were a bootleg though, would they really go through the trouble of putting it in such a nice boxed set like the real one? Ah, well anyone have experience with this site? If ********* are fake, then I also don't know if I can trust all the extremely cheap sets on ebay either. |
re: Anyone buy from ***********.com?
this post is blocked because of the URL, but the site in question is no doubt a bootleg site which you should avoid. if the deal is too good to be true, it's probably a bootleg.
however you can still find good deals on legit things. look to see where the seller is located first off. if they're in china/hk/asia, etc - that's a big red flag it's a bootleg. you were right about 'region free: worldwide' - that's another sign there's a good chance it's a bootleg. authentic stuff will say "region 1". if you're buying on ebay - make sure there's a UPC/product # listed. see if there's a picture of the box / art work and compare it with amazon.com and dvdempire.com (dvdempire will also let you see the UPC/bar code as well as a screenshot of the back of the packaging). if you have more questions i'd recommend doing a search on the forum for "bootleg" or post any questions you may have. |
