Blockbuster gift card - do u buy new or used DVDs?
Do you buy new or used DVDs when you get a Blockbuster gift card?
I got two Blockbuster gift cards from co-workers. Since Blockbuster charges an arm and a leg for their DVDs new, I'm going to buy a couple of previously viewed DVDs instead. I plan on buying 4 DVDs for $20 and 3 DVDs for $20. I got two $15 gift certificates so I'll be paying $10 plus tax for 7 DVDs. |

Candy :)
but seriously, I would imagine that you can buy whatever's in store with the card. Their new prices are way too much. I did use a giftcard one time to get a box set closer to a bargain price, but I'd spend it on their used selection over the new ones. |
If I got a Blockbuster gift card, which I hope I wouldn't, I'd probably pick up their exclusive Indiana Jones DVD case, since it's marked down to $19.99 from $49.99.

less another 20% if you have a friend working there.

I go for the used. Blockbusters' new prices are way too high, and they have some good (and recent) titles in the 3-for-20 bin. Even the 4-for-20 selection isn't bad.
My suggestion would be to take it up to the counter and ask to look at the discs first. Most are fine, but I've gotten a few that were just completely torn up. |
