should i be nervous about ordering from circuit city?

with all the store closings, is it wise to avoid buying from them at this point?

If you're worried because you think they'll just take your money and not have your product, I wouldn't worry about that... CC should be around for a while. Not sure I'd take out an extended warranty or anything from them, though.

Read the many, many posts on this forum about how terrible their checkout and stocking systems are, though, and you might think twice. If there's a killer deal on something you want, I'd go ahead and buy it, but if it's available for the same price almost anywhere else, I'd think about going somewhere else...

Anything is better than buying things at their stores.

No. That would be paranoid and ridiculous.

Guess you're referring to ordering from them online. I ordered the Bond Ultimate sets from them on Black Friday and had no problems. 1 was backordered and arrived later...I was pleased with the experience.

Now as others have mentioned, their in-store service leaves a great deal to be desired.

I've purchased a number of items recently from CC online and have had no problems. Quite good service actually; IMHO, you should be able to order with confidence.

What's this about store closings? A search of recent news items on Google mentions no such thing.

Lots of stores close up in the new year. It always interesting to see at the mall near me what goes.

I'am sure if CC has any under preforming stores they will close them. While I have heard of CC is opening new stores it will be interesting to see if they actually do. They might have plans which might be good to announce for their stock and for people wondering if they should buy items from them.
