Best Buy Reward Zone certificates - How long to receive?

I finally will receive my first Reward Zone certificate and was wondering how long it takes to receive it in the mail.

The issue date of the certificate was 10-7-2007.

iirc, you may print out your reward certs from the rewardzone site when they are issued. and each cert is unique and can only be used once.

Why in the world does it take 6 to 8 weeks?

They already have my address and all they have to do is put it in the mail.
While some things say it takes 6 to 8 weeks, it's usually a lot less then that, so I was wondering how long it really does take.

It even takes a couple of weeks to send them via e-mail sometimes.

If it is all electronic, I don't understand why it can't be instantaneous when you've accrued enough points.

They won't assess the points until at least after the time frame of the return policy has lapsed. Otherwise, you could buy big ticket items, get the coupons, and then return the items. Free money!

Isn't the reward zone built into the receipt. IE when you return something they scan the receipt and youre rewardzone is attached to that receipt, so those points automatically come off.
