Tiger Direct: Item ordered is not item received! They don't carry the item I got!
 

I received a shipment from TD today, much to my excitement. Well, I tore into the box only to find that the item inside is not the one I ordered. I wanted an articulating LCD arm, model # LCS-KLA. My hopes are dashed with thoughts of the time it will take to get a replacement. So, I looked at the invoice. Yep, the right price and the right item are listed, I don't know what happened. Then I take a closer look at the box itself. WTF? The model number on the box is the same as the one online and on the shipping label. I check again, seeing if in the box there are extra parts. No dice. So, I check all of TD, looking for this item. There are some that are close, but none of them are it.

So, I am thinking that the site got it wrong and put a different item up with the same model number. So I got and check Pricegrabber. Well, Tiger is not the only one who got this one wrong. Everyone is showing the wrong image!

So I check Peerless' site itself. Finally, someone who got the right image. You would hope that the manufacturer would....

Now, I can't find the one TD lists on Peerless' site though, but similar ones to the picture on TD are present.

Now, I called TD and told them that the one I got is different then the one they list. They asked for me to show them on their site which item I got. I told them they don't have it, but if they were to look at the Peerless site you can see that the items are different. They said that since the Peerless site lists the price at $111, (like the manufacturers always list higher then the actual selling price...) I got a good deal and they can't do anything for me. I told them that there are ones on the Peerless site that closely resemble the one they have listed that sell for $145. He said that since I didn't pay that much he can't do anything for me.

I personally think that the one I got looks flimsy compared to the one I wanted. So if anyone can find the real model number for the one listed on TD, please let me know. I have looked all around, but I can't find it.

What probably happened is that Peerless changed the design after the promotional pictures were taken. Yes, it sucks but at the bottom of TD's description is states:

"Contents of package may vary from those pictured and stated here, due to changes in manufacturer's specifications or merchandising."

I think your options are to return it and get a refund or keep it.

And with TD, returning it and getting a refund really isn't an option. ;)

I mean, a little difference isn't a big deal; different plating, different size, etc... But the one I got is completely different! I mean, at what point does the varying of specifications becomes a different product? Anyway, I am rather disappointed in all this.
