System shows I have no credit. I have over 200pts so I know I have $5 I never used. My account shows the points but shows no credit. What's going on over there?

I'm also waiting for a credit from a package received on the 29th. Hopefully soon!

danicus007 11-04-08 01:48 PM

Well their 20% sale is coming soon since they just starting raising their prices. I was just in my wishlist and clicked on a few items and most of them are already $2 more expensive. Iron Man BD went from $27 to $29 as an example.

I've yet to earn enough points to redeem for credit on an order, but according to their website you have to apply the points/credit at checkout. I don't think it will automatically become a credit to your account.

Horrorcjmm 11-04-08 02:18 PM

Got my credit today, so im just waiting for the sale to start.

munch 11-04-08 03:05 PM

Do they message you once they receive the package? Sorry, this is my first time sending something in.

They apparently do email you.

Horrorcjmm 11-04-08 03:44 PM

They received my dvds on the 27th of oct.

I only get emails from them when my credit is posted.

What concerns me is that I can't even find any reference to their point system anywhere on their help page anymore, which gives me little reason to do business with them, as most of the time the prices are a few cents cheaper at DeepDiscount (plus I want my unused $5 credit).

I had a little trouble finding it on the site as well. Try here (I clicked on shipping under their help/answers page).

alfonsosoriano 11-05-08 12:48 PM

I wish the quote machine would be back up and running? Has anyone emailed them and gotten an answer about it?

Not sure what the problem is.

I just placed an order and if you have frequent buyer points, a drop down box appears and you apply the points. That simple.

naitram 11-05-08 07:02 PM

wtf? Quote Machine still down? I knew I shouldn't have waited...not looking good for getting stuff there during the big sale. Fuck!

My thoughts exactly :(

IamLegend 11-06-08 11:30 AM

usually when the site is down "for maintenance" etc..they may be adjusting prices they pay for dvds and eliminating titles they no longer want...and it also rarely goes back online for a long time(months) in past times it has been down. perhaps they are getting ready to release all the used titles they have been receiving over the many months
and will not take in more used dvds for awhile.

kahuna 11-06-08 12:39 PM

Late last night I moved 40 titles including 2 box sets (Harryhausen Giftset & Dirty Harry Series) from my Wishlists to My Cart. Made sure all were in stock. Total last night was $1061.87 and now just checking the total is - $1082.80.
I still have 15 titles in my wishlists that will be released on 11/11 & 11/18. The first order of 40 titles will cost me about $65 UPS 2nd Day Air to Hawaii, Standard Shipping is $41.60 and Free Economy Shipping (7-28 business days on average) is free. I'm guessing this would be Media Mail which is slow as hell to Hawaii.

If I stick to what I have in my cart and wishlists and after the 25% off and shipping.
I should still have about $400-$350 left in credit.

Two Titles (Mongol & Final Countdown) I had in my cart but moved to my wishlists because they are Out of Stock

I've been procrastinating for months now, been attempting to send in a box but all my quote times expired. Now I am finally ready to send in a quote I did on October 17th, with the quote machine down, will these still be accepted or what?

Arthur Dent 11-06-08 12:59 PM

My credit has posted for the package they received on 10/29!

You indicated your quote time was expired but that you did a quote on October 17th. Each quote that is submitted is good for 30 days. So, it would still be good. I wouldn't send in a box to them with a quote that's more than 30 days old. I don't know if anyone's tried that, but I would guess it might rejected/returned, and you'd be out additional money/time.

I'm glad they're still processing them quickly, even though the quote machine has been down and the sale is getting ready to start. I sent off a box last week that was received Tuesday. Hopefully it won't be too much longer...

vballboy51 11-06-08 01:31 PM

Wish i had done it a week ago. i was lazy getting my list together. ugh...

Well I know I'm still in my 30 day time frame, just wondering since the actual system is down.

I can relate...Made my list at least but still took forever to get it out. Hopefully I'll get the credit before the sale.

Odo 11-06-08 07:12 PM

It's working now

souvenir 11-06-08 07:53 PM

Wow, drastically lower prices. DVD Planet just became far less attractive to sell to for me.

Brent L 11-06-08 07:56 PM

Yeah, wow, they totally gutted the QM.

dx23 11-06-08 08:45 PM

Everything is $2 - $9 dollars lower. Damn!

danicus007 11-06-08 09:46 PM

I wonder if it's only gutted for the 25% off sale period. I just did a comparison to the rates on my last trade and every disk is about $2-3 less pay out. Wowza.

marginal 11-06-08 10:43 PM

Looks to be a pretty consistent 1/3 drop in trade-in values across the board. Titles that used to be $5.99 are now $3.99, formerly $29.99 titles are now $19.99, etc.

MJG87 11-06-08 11:16 PM

Wow I hope they still accept my discs at the original prices.

alfonsosoriano 11-07-08 12:48 AM

I don't really care if the trade in values are lower, I'd still be getting good credit for stuff I don't really want that I got cheap. I just want some credit for this sale!!

Gypo66 11-07-08 05:08 AM

Man, you guys weren't kidding: A systematic 1/3 drop in value across the boards on used disc trades. Extremely bad news.

Brent L 11-07-08 06:11 AM

I'm just glad that I sent in so many over the past month, and already got my credit for em.

joltman 11-07-08 06:25 AM

Now it looks like it will be better to wait for second spin's next 20% extra trade in.

Cardsfan111 11-07-08 10:21 AM

Likewise, though I had one more box ready to go. :(

alfonsosoriano 11-07-08 12:34 PM

How many of you guys are going to wait until after the sale to see if prices return to what they are? I think I might. I wanted some credit for this sale but if I send them in now and the prices do return to what they were before I'd be pissed.

It depends on Secondspin/wherehouse buy prices.
I noticed alot of stuff they paid a $1 or $2 for.
Now are like 5 cents or a dime.
Or not even buying.

vballboy51 11-07-08 01:03 PM

yea i'm wondering if i should hold off as well. just doesn't seem worth getting rid of a lot of these discs for the little they are going to offer. i don't NEED anything right now anyway (want is a whole nother story!)
