Now if they could just get the used section back up and running...

Eric F 04-20-08 10:50 PM

Used DVDs would be nice, especially in time for the June 20% off sale.

souvenir 04-25-08 10:46 AM

I sent a box out last Friday via media mail and received an email today, just a week later, that all were accepted and processed.

great news! i sent a box off yesterday so hopefully i'll get just as fast of a turn around. honestly just as long as they process them by the june 20% off sale i'll be fine and less tempted to use my credit before then.

Wow, that sounds like a record. Hopefully the 3 boxes I sent them will be processed soon.

I wonder if their non-PO box address is still good... I've always mailed mine via UPS to that one. Maybe I should double check with cs...

docdoowop 04-28-08 11:42 AM

Three sell orders sent in since QM went live again....all three cleared and posted to my account. No complaints.

rkndkn 04-29-08 12:19 AM

My box was received by DVD Planet on 4/19 and I received the credit today. Nice!

Brent L 04-29-08 07:34 AM

I shipped mine the day right after the QM was brought back, and I haven't received my credit yet. :(

Same here.

dkny75 04-29-08 11:23 AM

One of the 3 boxes I sent in was processed so hopefully only a matter of time for the other 2.

How considerate are they with minor scratches on DVDs? And has anybody ever sent in something that was not credited? Were the items sent back? Thanks!

I'm also wondering about this, along with boxes of TV shows or box sets that aren't in mint condition. Used, but not abused, but not "new" condition either.

I've got some thigns I want to buy and trade in some stuff I don't want and not sure whether to trek down to an FYE or send stuff in to DVD Planet. It looks like I might get a little more $ from DVD Planet, but I would pay the cost of shipping them and the wait.

dkny75 04-30-08 10:21 AM

I've had a few things sent back due to scratches on the disc. They're mailed back to you on their dime.

jewellrunner 04-30-08 01:20 PM

They do mail them back to you, which is nice, but they are overly picky as well. I've had dvds sent back that played just fine and had minor scratches.

riotinmyskull 05-01-08 08:50 AM

- mailed my box out on the 24th
- delivery confirmation on the 26th
- got my credit email today (all discs accepted)

7 day total turn around :)

Brent L 05-01-08 10:46 AM

They added my credit today, but they refused about six of the discs giving the reason of either "wrong version" or "damaged".

I don't buy it, but whatever.

dkny75 05-01-08 02:31 PM

Yes! Got all four of my boxes approved and now I'm sitting with over $400 in credit. Bring on the 20% sale!

blued888 05-01-08 03:12 PM

Are they also meticulous with the DVD/Amaray cases' condition? Thanks.

there's always wherehouse.com

What do I need to do before sending in discs for trade-in? I've never sent in anything to them or bought anything from them before? I've read most everything in this thread and looked through their site and Help and Answers section and couldn't find anything.

Do I just box everything up and send it to the address in their "contact us" section? Do I enclose a paper with my contact information?

You'll need an account. Then click 'Sell your DVDs to us' and follow the instructions from there.

Ah, just tried that, thanks. So it looks like it tracks what you enter, and when you're done and click the "checkout" box, it'll give you a page to print and include w/ the box containing the DVDs I entered in, their UPCs, and my contact/account information?

Sounds good. I already priced the stuff I'm sending in... much more than FYE and Wherehouse. I'll get it out this weekend!

bang4dabuc 05-05-08 11:58 AM

Mailed out a huge shipment on 4/21 (85+ DVDs weighing ~24lbs) and got email that all of it was accepted this morning.

dkny75 05-05-08 01:15 PM

Yeah they've definitely improved their turnaround time on accepting used discs.
