I think this is new as I have not seen it before.

I'm getting a button saying "want this item free and shipped free" at the top center... well, sign up for Amazon Prime at $79 for a year and get the item free.

Seems to be coming up for many items of $40 and less.

Might be a good idea for someone wanting a $30-40 item ANYWAY, and then adding $40 to get Amazon Prime.

Obviously not as good a deal if you buy a $9 item "for free".

Anyone see freebies higher than $40 with this offer?

Not seeing this offer on my account. I don't know if it makes a difference but I recently did the 2 months free of prime shipping promotion. Maybe it might show up later.

I'm not seeing this offer, either. But I also did the recent "trial" of Prime, too.
So, I deleted my Amazon cookies, to see if the offer would appear, but it did not.

So, maybe you have to be logged in with a current account, as well as not having tried Prime recently?

That sucks. I've been looking for an excuse to join Prime, and this would do it for me.

On more expensive items, I'm getting an offer to get one month (or maybe two) of Amazon Prime free instead of the free item, so your conjectures are probably accurate.

I remember last time they did this you had to have a phyical street address...
no PO Box's .... I had to change my address before I would see the Prime special...
Prime does not ship to PO Box's....
