Backordering on DDD, how prevalent is it?

I've noticed since ordering the OLD BOY Limited Edition Tin Case from Deep Discount DVD with the inception of their recent 20% sale, on the day the pre-ordered price ended ( I bought it on the release date to get that xtra discount) they had to backorder it already!!! Does this happen often on their pre-ordered items? The KING KONG LIMITED EDITION set that came out on the same date (Nov. 14th) was shipped by the 16th, no problems. How many of you who ordered the OLD BOY LE set are like me, waiting for them to fill up their stock of this item once again? Was the pre-order demand that overwhelming?

Personally, I had never heard of Oldboy until I saw people ordering it in the 20% off sale. I checked out some reviews and decided to make a blind buy of it. I suspect a lot of other folks did, too and caught DDD off-guard.

It seems like the same thing happened earlier this year with Dust Devil and Cemetery Man. I doubt they expected as much interest as there turned out to be.
