Amazon / Deep Discount / Best Buy

Amazon.com - Rating ****
Excellent allround
Super saver shipping is a Godsend.
Never had a single problem on any order.
Excellent customer service

DeepDiscount.com - Rating ***
Until recently very few , if any , problems.
Usually unbeatable prices and shipping.....
Since expansion into books and other merchandise there has been a marked
increase in Website Technical Issues (mispellings on titles, wishlist errors, limited search capabilities, etc).
Combined with unresponsive and uniformed customer service
makes what could be an excellent retailer only very good.

Best Buy and Best Buy.com - Rating ** 1/2*
Instore - good stock, fair prices. Fairly competant service. Great sales when you can catch them.

Online - Average prices, Average shipping. Website generally VERY SLOW
to reflect upcoming releases and sometime current releases.

My main online store as been Digital Eyes/DVD Planet. I have been using them for 7 years. Any problem I've had with missing/defective discs or other "events" has been handled quickly and always to my satisfaction. I like the service at DVD adult empire and I never have had a problem when I've used Amazon US/UK.

Amazon is OK, but overpriced compared to DeepDiscount. The fiasco last December and the fact that you could get a different response depending on what CSR Monkey you got ahold of show that they are still very lacking in the customer service department.

Best Buy - Love 'em! They're constantly having to rotate movies off their shelves, and then they tell their customers "order it from our website instead." Said customers come into my store and order the movie from me instead because I'm usually cheaper than BB, especially if you add website shipping charges.

DVDPlanet - not a lot of experience.

Deep Discount - Not a complaint to be said. Over the years I have had a couple situations where orders didn't show up or discs popped off the hub and got scratched. Every single time, DD set the problem right immediately. The common complaint from customers seems to be e-mailing them questions, something I have never done. I always call, and I always get a positive result.

I have yet to have a single problem with Amazon. All of my orders arrive in excellent shape and in a timely manner. I ordered the Twisted Terror Collection on Sunday, it shipped yesterday and is out for delivery with UPS today. Granted, I paid a bit more shipping but that's still damn impressive to me.
