Best Buy RewardZone Membership Question

Ok, so we got some new computers the other day from there. We obviously picked up a Reward Zone Membership because it was like 230k points. So I made the account. It took a few days to log in.

After I logged in I saw the purchase I made, was not on my account. So I entered it manually. It has been 9 days now. So its on there now. The Status says In Process. The Comments says Transaction in process of validation.

It also says..

Pending Points Balance:
232,880

Now, when the heck am I going to get these certificates? I made it so they would be e-mailed to me. It looks like it won't take as long then.

Also I made a purchase for like $4x.xx the other day, and used my card. That transaction isn't even showing up on my RewardZone account. Should I wait a few more days, or enter it manually.

Your help is much obliged.

Thanks,

Chris

It takes 30 days from the time of purchase for the points to go into your account because of returns and whatnot. After that it takes another few days for you to get your certificates.

Man, no wonder it is only 9.99

Should I enter the other purchase now?

Can't hurt. Even that takes a few days to verify that the amount matches the receipt number.

Takes about a week after purchase to show up in your account, and 30 days before the points become available (basically well after the returns period).

It does take some time to show up, but its worth it to do so. I've been an RZ member for 3 years now,a nd not onlyh do they renew it for free every year thus far, I've gotten well over the $50 in BB gift certs(and all I buy there is media, no major purchases).

They did for me last year. I think it's a pretty standard practice.

You really should never pay for RZ. If you ever purchase a PC or TV in here, or anything of large value really, ask the associate if there is anything they can do on the price for you. Generally they will say no, but if you push the issue you will certainly at least be offered free RZ. Not much, but its almost a guarentee.

I could have sworn there was a thread not too long ago with people complaining about never getting a free year and always having to buy a membership each year.

Mine was just renewed too for free too, and the letter had a coupon for double points on a purchase.

I HIGHLY suggest that you change your options to have them mailed to you. There have been numerous issues with certs not arriving to email addresses, being blocked by spam filters or plain deleted. If you have trouble printing you are only given about 2-3 tries and then the certs expire on you and it's a hassle to get them re-issued from Customer Service.

I'd change the option to have them mailed to you. It will take a bit longer, but you'll know you'll get them.

So, has anyone noticed that the RZ is abnormally slow lately with getting points from Pending to Posted. I have pending points from 12/19/05 (it's now 1/27/06). I know it says 30 days, but I'm getting frustrated. By the 29th I should have over 150,000 points to go from pending to posted, but I guess BB doesn't really care.

Yep. They were fast to post mine last month, but not this month. I still have points not even pending yet from something I bought 4 days ago.
I'll have over 200,000 when everything is said and done. Gonna use that on something 360 related.

My membership runs out in April. I hope they renew me for free. I signed up for free last year because of a coupon posted here.

Probably something to do with the millions of transactions during the Christmas season.

Yeah. It seems things are particular slow at RZ this month. I had waited for a week to deduct a cert from my balance after I got enough points for it.

I bought a camera in early September and didn't get certificates until right before Christmas, but I bought a TV at the very end of November and got the certificates a week ago.

I have alot of pts that should have posted last week. I hope these post soon. Best Buy did renew my membership for free through 07. I got to sign up for the reward zone free last year with a coupon. I guess I can't complain too much, but I would like my pts. There's plenty of stuff I want at BB.

Well, several days worth of points finally posted today. I guess they fixed whatever problems they had (I hope). Anyone else get lucky?

mine finally got updated today too. but while it says i have 22,000 points there is nothing that says i've earned $5 certificate. i know i asked them to be sent by mail, but shouldn't it at least say i've earned it?

Agreed. I never could get the email certificates properly, but I've had no problems with them being mailed to me, although it does take longer.

Well, they issued me more certificates the other day. The only sucky part:

They issued a $20 certificate and took 120,000 pts for it.

I've emailed them to give me the other $20 I'm owed.

Hmm... they mailed me the tickets, but said something was wrong with point processing, so they didn't print out the point totals. Said to login to look them up, which I guess I should do to make sure they didn't screw me out of some points.
