Has anyone ever bought used dvd's from Amazon.com????
Hey, I was just wondering has anyone ever bought used dvd's from Amazon.com? I don't get how exactly it works. Is it like ebay where you're buying from a seller? Or is Amazon like a third party deal?
Thanks, JT

It is like buying from third party sellers... just like EBAY so read the descriptions carefully and ask questions if not sure about what you are purchasing esp DVDs...

It is just like Half.com
You have your credit card on account and you order the title(s) - from the seller, not Amazon.
Amazon, then, will take the money out of your account and give it to the seller. When the seller gets the money, they send your selection(s) out.
Of course, you can have people that don't/won't send - so you have to deal with that through Amazon.

Yes, I have bought from Amazon Marketplace. I've bought from there a handful of times and the discs have been as described each time (try to pick a seller that has excellent feedback, of course).
I don't believe Amazon would have a program such as this if they believed it was just one big scam.
Just like Ebay and Half.com, if you are not satisfied and think the item(s) was not described as it was you have the option to leave feedback.

When a buyer has grounds for a refund Amazon then gets their money back from the seller in cases where it is proven they were at fault. I'm sure there are cases when buyers try to claim something never arrived when the seller can offer proof of delivery in which a claim would be denied or Amazon takes the hit but I'd imagine that is the rare exception rather than the rule. Amazon probably can easily permanently blacklist both fraudently buyers and sellers both from the Marketplace and Amazon.com in general.

I've bought a few things from the marketplace, and had to file a claim with amazon because the item never arrived.
orderded a cd, like two weeks later it didn't show up, so i email the buyer, who says it should be there soon, week goes by, another email to seller, seller says he shipped it like 4 days after i bought it and it should arrive soon and if it didnt to contact him, after a 3rd round of emails, i filed a claim with amazon, who i think said they will contact the seller first (I guess to see if the seller can provide proof of shipment or delivery) and a few days later I just got a refund, no dispute with seller or anything..

I've listed a few things on Amazon and half, I just go with whichever market will get me a higher price since both charge 15%.

Amazon has enormous daily sales, and a big charge to sellers(fees). Right now i sold a total of $ $337.95 in items with shipping. After fees and before I ship the items I will only get like $250. So there the big bucks amazon makes, and I'm a releativley small seller.
