I forgot how much we had to spend to get that set for free though. (Still worth it at that time)

Definitely the Target 5.99 deal as well.

I was 15 minutes late to the flea market and my friend got Criterion version of Sid & Nancy, The Killer, Hard Boiled and a bunch of others for 12 bucks a piece.

I got Evil Dead Book of the Dead used/complete/near-mint from a seller at cheapassgamer for $8.00. Other than that alot of my DVD's have come at great prices. Nothing huge but the Fright Pack Walking Dead for $16.XX was good.

I missed out on the Target deal, so mine was the 19.99 Firefly from Wal-Mart.

I got the Simpsons season 1, 2 and 3 for $9.99 a piece and I felt pretty good about that...those Target prices are ridiculous. That would have been awesome.

It was during the Movie Gallery Buy 2 Get 2 Free sale that I picked up this haul:

When I asked the clerk about the impressive selection in the PVD bins he told me that they just culled a bunch of old titles from the back room. This particular Movie Gallery used to be an independent video rental store and had stocked quite a number of foreign and Criterion titles. They had to pull these titles off the shelf when Movie Gallery took them over because these titles weren't in their computer catalog system. Eventually the clerk just got tired of storing them in the back room and grew tired of waiting for them to add these titles to the catalog and just dumped 'em in the PVD bins.

I must have gotten there soon after he dumped them. The clerk told me that he would have purchased them himself but he simply couldn't gather the large sum needed.

I think I dropped about $200 - $300 on the collection but it was definitely the best DVD deal I've ever gotten.

I've had dozens of dozens of deals but some of the best are:
The $8 trade in at Blockbuster - hundreds & hundreds in credit that I used to cull thru their used DVDs and pick and choose what I wanted.
Toy Story 1/2 2 pack - $8.00(this was at the beginning of the year when they were OOP, of course I sold it as soon as I could to make $$$)
Dave Chappelle Season 1 - $8.00
Stargate SG-1 Season 1 - $15.00
Flash Gordon - $10.95 twice
Fletch - $10.95
Sin City - $4.00
Almost Famous Bootleg edition - $8.95
Akira Limited Edition Tin - $6.95
Evil Dead II Tin - $13.95
The Beyond Tin - $13.95
Big Trouble In Little China - $8.95 twice
Several Walt Disney flicks that were OOP for about $12.95 each
Be Cool - $5.00 sealed
Ray - $5.00 sealed
Johnny Cash/Willie Nelson VH1 Storrytellers - $1.00
Theory Of A Deadman - $1.25
Goo Goo Dolls Live in Buffalo NY CD/DVD concert - $3.70

I just picked up the Matrix Limited Edition for $19.99 from a pawn shop. The only thing it is missing is the bust. So I'm either going to find one of those or find something to put on the other side Matrix related. But for 19.99 I couldn't pass it up. Of course now I see that they were selling for about $39.00 but still. I can sell the other 4 movies and more than likely make my money back. I've already sold one of them for about $5.00.

Of course, some of the deals were less than scrupulous. Like the free Tommy Boy T-shirt when you bought the movie. But, when I saw the wonderful set with the Bobblehead doll that Best Buy had, I had to pick up one of those. At this point I couldn't have gone home with 2 of the same movie. So I trudged back to Circuit City and returned the movie but kept the T-Shirt. I know, I know....that was sooooo wrong but it felt soooo good. Especially considering that I've wasted many a trip for their advertised prices to find nothing in stock. Let's just say I felt it was fair compensation. And really though, they advertised a FREE t-shirt with the purchase of the DVD but they said nothing about having to keep the DVD.

And those are the most recent ones that I can remember. I get good deals 99% of the time or I just don't buy it. More importantly most of what I find OOP I sell as that is the only way I can support my addiction.....

Of course I picked up a few deals on black friday such as $45 Cool Waters cologne for $10(picked up 4 - the stuff is worth it's weight in gold).

I recently picked up a Laser Leveler and stud finder for FAR. I thought that was a good deal so I also picked one up for my dad for X-mas. I also found a 144 peice dremel kit for $4.97 from Home Depot also.

Of course I had to check out Media Plays faux clearance specials. I found some warm deals. But the one thing that was cool was that when I walked out of the store and looked at my receipt I found out that the book I bought Anne Rice - Blood & Gold rang up at $0.00..............I thought it was a nice markdown.

I'm sure I'll remember more as the day goes on. Oh, were we supposed to mention the BEST deal of 2005?..............I just couldn't choose one.

That was my best deal also. I still have about $400 of the over $1000 I scored during that period. Most of the discs that I turned in were used crap that I bought for $2-$3 each.

Star War EIII, FREE!

I didn't pick this up when it was first released. Last week Target had it on sale for $16.99 so I grabbed it. The clerk scanned it and deactivated the security. Later when I was home I noticed it was not on my receipt. SWEET!

I better start seeing some posts from the lucky bastards that got their Neon Genesis Evangelion sets for free from Overstock. I still cry a little inside when I think about it. If my order would have gone through, I would post that with a swell of pride.

I didn't get any crazy price mistakes.

I liked the NFL Super Bowl DVDs for $20 for all three volumes, Die Hard Trilogy for $10 AR, and 24 for whatever price they were ($15 or $20) on Black Friday.

By far it was getting the Queen: The Crown Jewels boxset new for 5 bucks. MSRP is $135. Still unbelievable. I just sold my old Queen II cd for double that.

Hey you didn't ask just for dvds...you asked for the best deal.

By the way, what thread is the Target $5.99 boxsets? I missed even hearing about that.

My favorite deal was all three Lord of the Rings Extended Edition gift sets at BJ's for $28.00 each, although if I had gotten in on the Queen Crown Jewels
set, that would definitely have been in the running.

gotta respect the DDD 20% off sale, got in on the superbowl sets all 3 for $25 from time, best buy 9.99 superbits were good, over the summer there was a crazy double stacked promo code error at columbia house... netted about 30 good dvds for 120 beans, and got about 4 free box sets from the fun cash, while it was still fun... - simpsons season 6 for 14.99 AR

the only deal i was upset to miss was the target 5.99 deal... i was really busy w/work and only got to one location, w/no luck.
